This place is great. Knowledgable staff who helped me select the perfect match for what I was looking for on more than one occasion. The shooting range itself is nice, but their second range is a bit smaller and lower quality than the in-shop one. I've shot there quite a few times now and the last time I went I shot for free because they had to move me to another lane. Customer service is great but they do get quite crowded from time to time, so it can take a while to get to you if you're in during busy hours. Overall I really enjoy shooting here, and their prices on guns are much lower than some other shops I've been to.

I shoot at SGA about once a week and enjoy the place thoroughly. I don't mind not being greeted at the door. It's one of the things I hate about CiCi's Pizza. Whenever I have gotten assistance from the employees there it has always been friendly and knowledgeable. The girls that rent the lanes are always very nice and friendly. The prices are also somewhat reasonable too. I paid $40 more for a Mosin Nagant at another gun shop. All the customers that I have seen there always seem to be happy and satisfied so I don't know where all of the negative comments come from unless they are from a competitor. SGA rocks to me. I can shoot my rifles and pistols and as many as I want for one price.

I've read some of these other reviews and never have I experienced a time when the staff wasn't attentive, courteous and knowledgable. If someone didn't know the answer, they found someone who did and there's nothing wrong with that. Prices are the lowest around and their selection is very good. I've bought 3 guns there since June of '12 and have had a lot of fun shooting them on either one of their shooting ranges.

My husband and I have visited this range few times and I would say it's ok. The lighting and actual setup (A/C, air recirculation, etc) is really nice. We believe is better than Shiloh's, which is a few miles away. The store has a decent selection of guns and rifles. You can even rent some of them, including SIGs and Glocks. Customer service is where they need to improve. It seems at times that the place is so packed that the girls that take your info can't handle the workload. To me, they need another girl there, for a total of three, specially during peak hours. Another thing that we did not like is that we saw unsafe gun practices there two times. 1st time was a teenager or young guy shooting his Glock with one hand and sideways, and doing rapid fire. My husband was hit on the face with the ejected brass, several times. because of this The 2nd time was a trio of foreign people, Asians; they pointed the loaded gun against the floor or each other. Granted, shooters are also responsible to report that, but a staff member was there on both occasions and he did not act until we informed it. Overall, I do recommend this range. But for a less crowded and more "personalized" attention, you may go to Shiloh, located close to FM1960. The lighting and range facilities are not as good as SGA, but it's a more adult oriented environment.

Unlike other reviewers, I have pretty much always gotten unsolicited help from the employees. They may not greet me as I walk in the door, but most of the times I have been in, it was very busy and all employees were engaged with customers that arrived before me. I stop by from time to time to check stock on .22 LR ammo and I generally use the range. I have looked at some of their parts and accessories for AR-15's and for the particular items I was shopping for, the prices were very high. They had Palmetto State Armory bolt carrier groups that sell for about $100-120 direct from PSA for $150 or so. Also some of the Magpul items were above average price as well. Now, this location has many employees on the weekends when I go in, so I'm sure their overhead is not exactly cheap...I would like to see prices more competitive, but service was fine. The people have always asked me for help at some point during my browsing and the last time I was in a couple weekends ago, a guy was very polite, helpful, but not overly pushy. He didn't know about the Taurus SMG style semi-auto that is chambered in hand gun rounds, but he went and got an answer for my question all the same. I don't expect everyone to know everything, he was professional and courteous. The selection of firearms and knives in sale at my time of visit was really good. The only thing I don't like about this place is their location. They have done so well that I feel they have outgrown this location, as parking is almost always a pain, and the shop is always more crowded than I would like. Some oblivious person is always aimlessly standing in front of the glass case in front of the handgun I want to check out, lol. I would love to see them move to some place nearby to a larger facility that offers an indoor range as nice and ventilated as well as a long range outdoor range. I'm not a fan of Carter's Country due to the owners anti-gun show stance, but I won't get into politics.

Earlier this week I decided to take a little trip down to Spring Guns and Ammo, knowing that they have a good selection of name brand products. When I first walked in through the door, I was never greeted by anyone. That's what they are good at, not greeting. The reason I went to Spring Guns and Ammo is because of their large variety of name brand knives. This time I had in mind of purchasing a nice Spyderco knife that I have always wanted. I swear I was never greeted by anyone at the counter. The worst thing was that there were only 3 or 4 customers in the store. I stood there by the knife counter for about 20 or 25 minutes, waiting for someone to help me out. Soon almost every single customer that was left in the store left. Me and some other two customers were left in the store. I swear there were about 3 or 4 young workers just chatting away in a little group not far from where I was standing. Not one single employee came over and asked me if I needed some help. Its a shame, I was really going to make a purchase. One employee passed right by me, he didn't even greet me. I was like a ghost in that store. I don't know how these guys stay in business with their horrible customer service. Never coming back again, go somewhere else If you want to be treated with respect. I'm taking my business somewhere else.
