Michael is currently living and working in Melbourne, but sorely misses his shark-dodging morning swims at Cottesloe Beach in his home town of Perth, Western Australia.
His professional career has spanned nearly 20 years, proving genuine creativity and hard work can still compete in a changeable contemporary art market, and we hope to increase recognition for his work further afield over the next few years. His 8th solo exhibition opened in Melbourne and Sydney in 2010.
WORK IN PROGRESS
Michael is currently working on a small landscape body and a larger conceptual series, his first abstract works in over 5 years.
"The contrasts in human interactions and experiences in a city like Melbourne interest me. Life's hopes, ambitions, failures, obligations, emotional blockages, postures and gestures are all on display, and these abstract characters are an intuitive response to my observations."
1996 - Diploma of Fine Arts, Julian Ashton Art School, Sydney
1996 - Tom Bass Sculpture School, Sydney
1991 - Bachelor of Arts, University of Western Australia
