I've talked with and am in the process of talking to several colleges who are adapting our student-run Instagram account idea to fit their needs and thought I'd pull together a public resource for those thinking about trying the idea or need inspiration. Do you have a student-run Instagram that you'd like me to include on the list?

How do you thank your community members whose content you share? This is one of the things we've started doing (and it's free!).

Do you ask your social communities for any advice they want to offer your new incoming students? One of my students decided to use the answers we got on social media and crowd-source her matriculation speech. It was a huge hit!

Yik Yak: I know we've discussed it in here before, but our rural campus is having some serious issues with students using Yik Yak and we're not quite sure how to go about handling it since it's anonymous. Are you aware of anything your office or your student affairs office is doing to help?

Do you get a lot of requests to "post XXX on social media" like it's THE answer? I do, and recently I worked with various offices to develop a strategy for a campaign that was based solely on social media, but involved various components. Are results were fantastic. I wanted to share the outcomes here.

We've talked about Instagram student-takeovers a bit in here so I thought I'd share what I've learned through our completely separate student-run Instagram account since launching it six months ago.

It's been a wild but amazing ride since launching our student-run Instagram account six months ago. Here's a snippet of what I've learned.

Last night, a St. Lawrence University's alum, Rich Peverley, collapsed during the Dallas Stars game. Being a social media manager at a university is a true privilege, and experiencing the outpouring of support for one of our own last night, in real time, was incredible. I wanted to share that experience with others.

I had a chance encounter with a prospective parent recently who let me in on what she is looking for when researching colleges on Facebook. Here's what she told me.

I had the chance to interact with a prospective parent last week and pick her brain about what she's looking for when researching colleges on Facebook. This is what she said.
