The only good thing about this place is that it is a great place to watch the games with other people. I hate everything else about this café.

First and last time here! Buffalo chicken sandwich was inedible and took forever for a managerial presence after being told that no General Manager was present! What about the regular manager duh!!! Anyways finally got handled but not returning!

Food was maybe a 2.5; not horrible, but definitely not worth the money . But they if I could I'd give them -3 for the horrible service. Waitress showed up maybe twice after order and then we were 30 minutes late to a concert because of an error they made in charging us for our bill with there credit card machine. Not once during the 30 min it took to pay did anyone tell us what was going on. Only after we hunted down a different waitress on the bottom floor did we find out what was happening. I understand mistakes happen, but the lack of communication is unforgivable given the circumstances.

Probably the worst experience in a restaurant. Server was very kind but the general manager was one of the rudest people I have encountered. I thought it was the poor quality of the food that would keep me from ever eating here again, however it was the general manager, Mr. Hernandez, who stopped by my table long enough to insult me. I was not attempting to get money off of my bill for the disgusting idea of food on my plate, just bring it to the managers attention. I still am having a hard time understanding why he felt the need to be so nasty to me and my disappointed Mr. Illitch would allow someone like that to represent his vision of what hockey town should be. ....

Never go here. Waited forever to get a seat only to be ignored wait staff. Had apps, sub par at best.

Definitely a great place to visit for a Detroit sports fan, and probably a lively, fun place to be before, after, and during big games. However I'd recommend against stopping just for the food. The dining space is awkward. Hockeytown Cafe is split between multiple floors, two bars, a store, and there's even a theater that shares the same lobby with it. The dining area was located on an open second floor space. Service wasn't bad. Our server was very personable and friendly. The food was okay. I had the Michigan Cherry Burger. It sounded interesting and I had heard good things. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't any better than a typical burger, despite the odd makeup of it. Others in our party had Quesadilla burgers. The garnish was pretty boring, and the tortilla shell it was served on was slightly burnt on the bottom. The fries were great. They have a good drink selection as well. Overall you'll likely walk away thinking you paid a tad too much. If you're in it for the atmosphere this place can be great. Otherwise you could probably do better with your evening meal.

Food is not good, beer is served warm and the cook staff is argumentative, I'll never go back. It was not a good dining experience and I do not recommend this restaurant to any one!!
