This week we had the pleasure of visiting Kentucky's favorite ginger soda company, a respected social service agency in Newport, and two Kentucky school boards to present the 2018 KEMI Destiny Award!

Please join us in celebrating the safety success of Ale-8-One, Brighton Center, the Clinton County Board of Education, and the Metcalfe County Board of Education!

Are you looking for a way for a group of your employees to serve in the community? Earlier this week these KEMI employees volunteered with BizTown, a mini-city designed by Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass where students learn about business, financial literacy, and how their school work applies in the real-world. KEMI employees and family members spent a part of their Saturday volunteering for the Prescription Drug Take Back Day held at Kentucky American Water.

The take back program helps prevent pill abuse and theft by providing a safe way to dispose of leftover painkillers, addictive medicines, or any other potentially dangerous drugs that may be expired, unused or simply unwanted.

During the last Rx take back in April, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) reported that the public turned in 450 tons (900,000 pounds) of prescription drugs at almost 5,500 sites around the country.

To learn more, visit takebackday.dea.gov.
