I need a poke at the collective memory. Several months ago I read an article from someone at a modern tech company (maybe Evernote or Dropbox, etc), talking about how putting some good developers on a disfunctional team didn't make the team good, it brought those developers down to the level of the team. Problem is that I can't find it anymore. Does this jog a memory from anyone?

A little poem to figure out when Easter falls. Roughly it is -
3 Sundays after the 3rd new moon after Epiphany. Apparently this works for all but 2 edge cases of Easter.
Manuscript is a Book of Hours from Tours, specifically St. Martin's in Tours, from the second-half of the 15th Century. Now in the collection of the Bibliotheque de Geneve, MS Lat 34 (f.3r). In the original it is written 90-degrees rotated in the right margin, I've rotated it here for ease of reading. The second pic is the entire recto image

I've built the same sukkah for the last 12 years, in which time I've lived in 4 locations in 3 cities. I'm not sure I've got this whole "temporary dwelling" thing quite right

For those interested in such things, the online catalogue accompanying #BeyondWords2016 (a.k.a the Great Boston Manuscript Typhoon) is now online. Not all of the MS are digitized, but a fair number are

That is the expression used when I realized I forgot to photograph a page from a calendar at the Morgan. I've got January, February, April-December...which isn't much use without March. Sigh, now to pay them probably extremely silly money for 2 images

Today's lesson:
warn $object->function() if ($DEBUG);
almost NEVER does what you want.

It caused today's Heisenbug

VERY interesting to a very few people, the online availability of a middle-low German dictionary, the Vocabularius Theutonicus.  It provides Latin translations of the German, as well as sometimes explanations/synonyms in German.  The online version is bidirectional, so you can search by Latin or German word
