After attending this restaurant for my birthday with my family and upon reading these fabulous comments posted on here i felt this was the ideal choice to have a well balanced dinner. However, the comments below are extremely inaccurate the staff is clearly SLOW, we had order everything twice because our server couldn't get the orders down properly. Then to make it worse the attitude of the staff was too pretentious it felt as if i was doing them the favour of choosing their rest. over the hundreds in dtown. The saxophone player was great! But would it be possible to instil a volume that was bearable?? No one could talk over the music, dont get me wrong the guy is talented. I suppose even after Restaurant makeover its still not a sure thing for many upcoming dining locations. And what is with the art?? Why do i stare at the golden arch bridge and american post modernism art if this is supposed to a fusion of Middle Eastern and Italian food?? The manage/owner needs to revaluate the environment that is placed in the internal section of the restaurant. Overall, I hope you take a chance like i did and visit this fine establishment, good luck.

Ruined our Holiday Party - YES their food is good and the venue is beautiful BUT their lack of respect and business ethics ruined our Holiday Party of 55 people. We shook hands with the owner who came across as a honest nice guy. We were assured we would have the restaurant private for our Holiday Event. We had clients fly in from across Canada for our annual Holiday Party. We paid a DJ to provide us dance music and an Illusionist to provide us with entertainment for a 45 minute show. 8:00pm I enter the restaurant to see that my 55 guests are to be placed in half the restaurant because they have filled the other half of the restaurant. We were in a tight spot and were not able to move freely and mingle. I quickly realized that our party had been turned into a dinner and not by our choice. The owner came to me and said not to worry everyone would be out by 8:30pm. I dont see how that was suppose to make me happy, I told him he has embarrassed me because I was the coordinator and had recommended his restaurant to the CEO of our company. 9:00pm people other then our guests in restaurant. 9:45pm people other then our guests in restaurant. 10:00pm we had to put our illusionist up with other people that were not our guests in the restaurant because of the arrangements made with the booking. There was 1 table of VERY RUDE women that decided to talk and be loud during our show. They refused to be quit and the owner decided to hide in the kitchen and avoid speaking with us or the loud table. Needless to say the show was spoiled a bit and we paid a lot of money for the performer. The DJ went on and finally the table of rude women left. At the end of the evening the CEO of our company went to the owner with the list of complaints we had from the evening and obviously said that we did not think it was fare that we had to pay the price for a private venue when we DID NOT get a private venue. He did not care that our show was ruined or that he lied to us about the privacy of the event. TERRIBLE SERVICE BY THE OWNER, lack of respect was disgusting and the business ethics were embarrassing to say the least. DO NOT BOOK A PRIVATE PARTY HERE I wouldnt even suggest for you to eat in this restaurant because I do not feel that Mideastro deserves the good peoples money.

I've been to Mideastro Thornhill previous location at Dufferin & Langstaff, and it was much better operated, than the new location at 8020 Bathurst Street. My husband and I visited Mideastro Thornhill in November 2013 to check out the new location with our Groupon voucher. The experience left a very bitter taste (literally), and we do not look forward to returning to Mideastro. The staff needs additional training on how to treat the customers with respect and appreciation (even if the patrons are there with a voucher!). The manager (or the person in charge) barely acknowledges the customers and makes no effort to explain in person why a substitution is not allowed - he communicated everything through waitresses. The portions are very small and the grilled rack of lamb was not just overcooked - it was charred! I have trouble believing that any chef, who has been in the kitchen for more than 2 months, has trouble making a standard dish! I've had the same grilled rack of lamb at Mideastro Thornhill previous location, and it tasted much better. Overall, it is a wannabe-posh restaurant with below average food and service. Also, I believe that every truly unique restaurant is known by a truly unique dish, which can only be found in that particular restaurant. Mideastro Thornhill offers very limited choice of dishes, and none of them can be considered truly unique.

We just went to the new Thornhill location and loved it. The Caprese Salad, Daily Pasta, and Risotto were all excellent. Service was exceptional, lovely decor. Not cheap...but it isn't mean to be. The private room looks great for functions!

We just ate at the new Yorkville Avenue location. The service was outstanding - attentive and informative but without being too intrusive. The food was excellent (especially the daily fish). The restaurant atmosphere was lovely with refined finishes throughout. The sommelier recommended some really great wines too! We were so full, we couldn't eat dessert, but will definitely be going back for it soon!

Excellent olive bread - baked fresh on the premises. Morocco appetizer: falafels were crunchy on the outside and creamy inside; beef "cigars" were absolutely delicious. Main courses: Sesame salmon - perfectly baked; calamari - perfect too, not dry / rubbery! Desserts!!! Extensive menu. Had Torta alla Nonna (soft shortbread / almond pastry with lemon filling) and mascarpone cheesecake with berries. Chef came to table to ask if everything was ok and then sent us fig tart - made with fresh figs (could have eaten several portions!) and scoop of lemon sorbet (heavenly!). Sometimes the maitre d will sing. Jazz sax player on Friday nite when we were there. Service was very good too. Everything was 5 star quality. Reasonably priced for the quality and service.
