I know you want to improve your photography. But if you're like most of us, you keep reading articles and tutorials about it, but you never put those ideas into practice. It's time for a push! It's time to get off the couch! In the 9 years of teaching photography on this site, I've consistently ...

Don't box up that camera and send it back to the manufacturer just yet. There are lots of reasons why your camera may be producing images that look great on your computer and bad on paper. The good news is that most of these issues are easily correctable once you understand your camera's ...

24 Outstanding Camera Toss Images http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/3587 #photography
Camera toss photography is kind of like abstract painting. Most camera toss images are an expression of color, light and texture without any identifiable object to provide context to the image. Camera toss creates some really beautiful images, but photographer beware. This branch of photography ...

Getting the action shot can be difficult. It goes without saying (but I'll say it anyway) that it is typically harder to take a great photo of a moving subject than a stationary one. It's the bottom of the 9th and you snap a picture just as your son steals home for the win.

Will you participate?

Have you been wanting to improve your photography for a while, but never seem to find the time?

Well, put the 8th November in your diary. That's the date I'll be starting two new step-by-step courses to supercharge your photography.

The first will be a daily course with new lessons, ideas and challenges to complete every day. I'll guide and inspire you every step of the way with thoughts and techniques to keep everything simple and fun.

We'll also have a weekly version if you're too busy for a daily schedule.

You'll be encouraged to participate and upload photos showing your progress, so we can all share in your improvement!

Both courses are designed to guide you from easy to advanced. Perfect even if you haven't taken many good photos yet. And if you already know your way around your camera, we'll have an intermediate starting point too.

More next week!

How well can you freelens?
As photographers and in turn artists, we are constantly searching for new ways to invigorate our art and revitalize our passion for it. Sometimes this need to create something new and different causes us to try out unconventional and potentially ill-advised methods. Freelensing is one of these ...

10 Tips for Better Flower Photography http://www.digital-photo-secrets.com/tip/3556 #photography
As people, we are awed by nature. Despite everything we arguably do to hinder it, somehow it perseveres on, evidenced by the dandelion stubbornly reaching through a crack in the sidewalk or a tree being born from the ashes of a terrible forest fire. With that awe comes the desire to capture the ...
