Unhelpful restaurant staff with attitude. Several minutes before anyone came along to try and seat us. When waiter appeared, it was then suggested that we go downstairs to ask the manager which menu we were entitled to eat from, us having a voucher which was given as a gift. manager working behind bar downstairs which was 2-3 deep with people. The restaurant had two occupied tables totalling 6 people - people were being turned away on a Saturday afternoon as they were "too busy". We left after returning to the restaurant and being told by the waiter the reason he had sent us downstairs was to find out which menu we were to choose from! Avoid this place and the Nicholsons brand, basic problems with customer service and staffing.

Well... I cannnot say anything about food as I wasn't able to get any. Slow staff. Waited 15 min in half busy place to be served. 2 people on the floor happier to chat to each others that serve the customers. 2 people who arrived after us get served b4 we did. Never again. Management needs to employ more staff in that weather with that many customers.

Met some friends here this evening. They had already had a mix up with some guacamole arriving 10 minutes after nachos came to the table. 2 of us then ordered the same salad. One salad came within 10 minutes but the waitress did not mention another. After a 30 minute wait for the second salad, it took 10 minutes of consistent waving to flag down one of the staff to the table (they looked and ignored several times). When the waitor eventually came he said that the second salad was still on its way. 30 minutes later I walked up to a member of staff and cancelled as it still had not arrived. A drink was spilt over the table and a persons lap... the staff took over 5 minutes to get a cloth and didnt bother getting extra tissue in the meantime... the delay was that they were wiping down an already cleaned table. All in all, terrible service. It wasn't extremely busy so I can't see any excuse. Tourist trap just because of it's location - would be lovely with the right staff.

All the leaps and strides that British pubs have made in the last 10 years have completely passed Doggets. To use the words 'Gastropub' is an insult. I have no problem paying £17 for lamb cutlets, but when they come with frozen peas, carrots and mash, without any mint sauce or gravy, in a tatty restaurant with dirty windows (what river view), I felt embarrassed for the people who took us there. Stay clear!!!!

The guy taking orders behind the bar had no manners whatsoever. After a misunderstanding with an order he came out of the bar to my table to blame me for the misunderstanding being very aggressive. He said that next time I had to be more clear when ordering. Terrible experience. Not recommended if you want to have a nice and peaceful time after work.

Could not fault it. Nice selection of beers, nice tasty food. No nonsense. Reasonable (for London) prices. Would go again.

Have had our company Christmas party here for the past two years I've been with them and this is the perfect place to have it. Easy to get to and the staff are very tolerable for what has been a very loud couple of parties we've had there.
