Haiku R1 Alpha 4.1 has been released!

Due to the immediate testing efforts of HAIKU Release 1 Alpha 4, several critical bugs were detected by testers and reported on our bug tracker. On several hardware configurations, those issues prevented Haiku from booting properly. Since then, those bugs have been squashed and are resolved in this bugfix update, R1 Alpha 4.1.

I was just wondering when to expect a new release? Because that is the way I keep taps on the project progress.

Package management is now live!! Be sure to test out the new builds and report bugs.  These first days are critical to the long-term success of Haiku.

Alex Smith's (xyzzy) x86_64 changes have been merged into Haiku!!! You can now compile your own shiny x86_64 image of Haiku from the Haiku repo.

It's still a bit bit early, and things like installoptionalpackage need time to catch up.

Thanks to Alex Smith (xyzzy)'s GSOC 2012 work, Haiku is successfully booting on x86_64.  The the code is still extremely early, however this marks great progress on Haiku and shows how flexible the code base is.
