Tomorrow I will skip ahead to installing electronics so I can make it move. Then I will give a creepy laugh and say "it's alive".

- Looks good! Let me know what you think about the carriages. I'm debating between those wheels riding in the extrusion slots and OpenRail for my Mini-Kossel.Jul 14, 2013
- The carriages seem OK, but I don't have a lot of experience to compare them. I wish the eccentric cams were metal and not plastic, because I'm afraid of damaging them when I adjust them with a wrench.
I was having a great deal of trouble getting the U-joints secured in the carriage mounts, but on review of the docs I was using the wrong screw. Now I really feel like an idiot—I'd murdered a bunch of phillips screw heads trying to get them in far enough to retain the u-joint axles, but they're simply longer than they should have been. If I haven't somehow also damaged the mounts in this process all should be well.
I should take a break in the hopes that when I come back I make fewer mistakes.Jul 14, 2013
- It's alive! And homing and doing coordinated moves with the "repetiermax" firmware.
Also, I now have the carriages much better adjusted. One problem I had was that by over-tightening the screw through the eccentric cams, they became too tight to turn with a wrench. After correcting that they turn fine and I withdraw my complaint about the plastic construction.Jul 14, 2013
