Beautifully simple, elegant, animation, illustrating how recent we humans are.

as someone involved in the launch of asos marketplace more than two years ago, it's nice to see a bit of competition at last!

I have a post on HTTP status codes (specifically 4xx errors) sitting in my drafts folder, and came across this. Absolutely agree - the HTTP spec defines a 200 response as "received, understood and accepted". Anything else should not return a 200. Whilst this is transparent to browsers (i.e. humans), automated testing, API use, log analysis all benefit from specific error status codes.

Benchmarking is always controversial, and yet always compelling reading. Lack of a .NET test is a bit of an omission, but they have openly requested pull requests for missing frameworks, so get at it!

Intelligent, articulate, informative and entertaining - the CloudFlare blog may be niche, but it is (IMO) the best technology blog out there right now.

"The challenge with attacks at this scale is they risk overwhelming the systems that link together the Internet itself. The largest routers that you can buy have, at most, 100Gbps ports. It is possible to bond more than one of these ports together to create capacity that is greater than 100Gbps however, at some point, there are limits to how much these routers can handle. If that limit is exceeded then the network becomes congested and slows down."
