Mary Lee, I totally count you as a poet. Maybe we can use Hangouts to share poetry, discuss poetry, etc.

Here's the introduction I used when I shared it:

Do you know any poets on Plus?
A directory's needed! And thus
As Susan has said
Drop some links in her thread
Crowdsourcing, no muss and no fuss!

I'm a sometime poet--most of my work now is prose but I do share a poem on the blog now and then. And (as an MFA with a poetry concentration) some of my favorite people in the world are poets. :)

+Susan Taylor Brown thanks for sharing, although I am now primarily a visual artist, when I taught, it was in creative writing. You guys make me feel at home, :)

Great list. I've been writing a lot of poetry as well so having some new contacts is just what I've been looking for. :)

Yay, Ellen. Glad to see you here. And sure, you need more stuff to do. Fodder and all that rot. :)

Not entirely sure what I'm adding myself to ... and that's never stopped me before.

I am a technician and rogue poet in academician’s clothing.

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. ...Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

So am I. Children's poetry as well as adult light verse and translations of poems (mostly from Spanish).

Most of my poetry writing seems to be behind me, but every once in a while, something begs to be written (or typed as the case may be).

Thanks for this, Isaias! I'll have to come back and add to it. I just updated my master list post with more names. 49 now.

Daniele, thanks so much for adding the poet list to your site! Love the idea of one place for all the circles to gather.

I am going to make it simpler to add the lists there just submitting a link :) hopefully it'll be more usable soon :)

Cool, Daniele. Yeah, one thing that might be confusing (not just on my list but other lists) is as we add people to the master list, the one you have will have people missing. I was going to go back and edit my post and add people to the top level every so often. though I notice on other lists people just keep adding to the post and search for names that way. Hmm.

Daniele, that sounds wonderful! Thanks for taking this on. We all win when we all share knowledge.

+Jayson Minard writes short poetry like nonsense, or no-nonsense depending on your view. I guess it is "very concise, ironic free verse" if anything.

Oh awesome I was looking for other poets on here to add to my poet circle saved me some serious time most my stuff is on my blog at http://www.tekhawk.com posting some random ones on G+ here and there though :)

Poet, writer, longtime editor, looking to network with others for ways G+, and Hangouts can be used to further poetry. Remembers always what Don Marquis said: "Publishing a book of poetry is like dropping a feather into the Grand Canyon and waiting for the echo." What new possibilities has the Web opened to us that we haven't yet explored?

Hello! A UK poet here. Nice to meet you all.

Thank you for the list. I write haiku, three line short poem.

Writing poetry, my heart of hearts. Thank you!

It's easier if you share the actual circle just in case you didn't know about that feature. +Rob Crawford

Poetry and fiction writer here! How do I get on the list?

Thanks +Rob Crawford I got off track with this list when I was away from G+ for a while and they added the share circle feature. I'll get this all up to date now.

Sure, add me to your list. You are now added to http://gpc.fm/l/poetics. It is a way to see & be seen, plus raises your G+ stats. :) I started the directory when I first joined Google+. C Murray also has a directory called Googlepoetics. We're synergistic. I see posters are unaware of these groups. They are welcome to add on to both if they like.

Thank you! Scribble some lines here and there. Would like to be on your list Susan.

@Val...if you're writing to me, I have 3 poems posted on my profile & also in a 'photos" folder. More to follow. If you're not writing to me...never mind. ;)

I'd like to be included in this circle. Is this how you do it? +Jim Benz

Interesting! I'd love to see more poets & writers around. link me up.

I have a poem being published this month. Thanks for adding me.

Poetry helps my writing, i have a difficult time sticking with a story but not poetry

Hello, Susan! I found this list through +Curiosity Quills Press. I'd love to be included on this list, if I could be. I do quite a bit of poetizing, in G+ and elsewhere. Thanks!

I have about 100 poems, mostly heartfelt. I will be posting more of them online soon, would love to be part of your list.
+Susan Taylor Brown
