It's hard to exaggerate how wonderful the food at Ana Sortun's respected eatery in Cambridge is. From the fried mussels to the striped bass to the turkish profiteroles, the richness and flavor of the food is astounding. Worth a long trip out of your way to eat here.

I went to Oleana a few weeks ago with fairly high expectations given the reviews, and it _exceeded_ those expectations. We ordered and shared 6 appetizers between the two of us rather than any entrees, and the weakest among them was outstanding. I like middle eastern cuisine, but don't generally love it, and I loved everything here. The high point for me was a fried Sfela with Greek Tabouleh which took a bunch of flavors that I like ok individually (bulgar, sfela, walnuts, pomegranates) and combined together to be something mind-bogglingly amazing. Of the past several months, this has definitely the high point of our local dining. Enthusiastically recommended.

Oleana is often considered as one of the best restaurants in Boston. IMHO, my not be the best, but definitely worth a visit. We had a late dinner with a friend on Thursday evening. The place was packed and we had to wait for 10-15 minutes even though we had a reservation. Food was very decent. It was quite late already and we only took a few appetizers (Meze). Don't remember all of them, but spicy sardines and stuffed squid were superb, when quails were slightly overcooked to my taste. For wine, we choose Rhone (one of the cheapest wines from the list) and it was ok. The price was on pair with similar places in Boston. Nice dinner after all.

I believe Oleana does not deserve 28 for the food - I would rate the food at 25/26, especially when compared to other restaurants such as Sichuan Gourmet, TW food or Bondir. The service was fair, We ordered six dishes. First, the menu was not crystal clear on the ingredients and the staff had a hard time helping on it. The waitress was unfriendly, and did not named the dishes when bringing them. The decor is a good mix of modern, deco and oriental. In summary, I think Oleana is a good restaurant, but a bit too expensive for the food and the service.
