Great to be with the tremendous students, teachers and Principal of JC Parks Elementary School today. We planted a tree and worked to cleanup the nearby creek. #DayToServe

At Pimlico this morning to visit Orb, Kentucky Derby winner and favorite in the 138th Running of the Preakness Stakes. The Preakness generates more than $40m each year in economic impact and more than 400 full time jobs. A great day for Marylanders.

Today, the +US Chamber of Commerce ranked Maryland #1 for the second year in a row for Entrepreneurship & Innovation in their 2013 Enterprising States report.

Maryland continues to be a leader in the 21st century global economy.

He is a horrible governor and it's evident that he is incapable of following a budget. He is oblivious to what he's doing to the people of this state (gas rate increase, toll rate increase and a "rain tax"). He spent the monies allocated to the Transportation Fund and now wants Marylanders' to foot the bill, again! In addition, Maryland is rated an "F"  by businesses due to astronomical taxes, which creates job loss (I'm one of those folks without a job thanks to O'Malley).

I certainly will not be voting for this person. He lacks leadership and common sense. You don't jack up and/or create 3 taxes/rates when the economy is in such dire straights. The People can't handle it.

FYI ... I was a Democrat, but now I'm for fixing this economy!  O'Malley leaves much to be desired and I will and am spreading the word about his policies and lack of.

Once again the Milken Institute ranks Maryland #2 among states that are using science and technology to drive innovation and economic growth and #1 in R&D per capita.

Our progress has been possible because together, we've made record investments in our #1 in the nation public schools (for 5 years in a row), while doing more than any other state in the nation to hold down the cost of college tuition.

And in this year's budget we're continuing to make the strategic investments that spur innovation and create 21st century jobs, including $8 million for our R&D tax credit, $10 million for our biotechnology tax credit and $3 million to launch a new cybersecurity tax credit.

Fyodor Biotechnologies Corp. is on the precipice of a breakthrough in investigating sources of fever, other than malaria, in developing countries. Chairman and CEO Dr. Eddy Agbo was thrilled when he received word, only last week, of a National Science Foundation grant for their work. But before they could even process the payment, our federal government needlessly shut down.

No thanks.
If cutting the national debt is an important economic goal in the future, then a governor who has raised the State's Budget by over 25% in the last 6 plus years, isn't a good candidate.

Maryland has the 4th fastest rate of job growth for the first quarter 2013 - thanks to tremendously innovative and growing companies like Knorr Brake in Westminster, MD - who we joined today to celebrate the opening of their new 235,000 square foot facility that will eventually house hundreds of new jobs for Maryland families.

I don't need to provide documentation of things that are already in your face - you need to open your eyes and pay some level of attention.

"You do understand that guns do not actually kill people right?  Its the person pulling the trigger, none of my weapons have ever jumped up and killed anyone."
That's just another BS bit of tripe from the right. The person pulling the trigger wouldn't have the trigger without the gun. If guns don't kill people, why don't we send soldiers to war without them. The fact is that guns are THE most often chosen method of killing someone because they do kill people. Anyone saying they don't is simply proving themselves a moron.

I never said ANYTHING about cosmetic modifications, that's just crap you injected into your failed argument as a red herring to puff it up. As far as the law, and the 2nd Amendment, I am very familiar with them, obviously a great deal moreso than you.

Gallows WOULD be cheaper. As I pointed out I was trying to be fair, especially considering that the people on the other side are the ones threatening everyone with guns.

Nobody but you brought up anything about Chicago, which is just another attempt by you to introduce a red herring. It has nothing to do with anything, certainly not the fact that fewer guns will make people safer.

Republicans have fought for years to eliminate taxes and government. It's part of the party platform. If you don't understand that, then you probably shouldn't be allowed to vote because you don't even know what your party represents. Ever hear of Grover Norquist? Every elected Republican ( but 4 ) are signed onto his pledge to drown our country in the bathtub. As far as we Americans are concerned that makes them all traitors.

A lawfully armed citizen is NOT a deterrent for crime, nor a huge deterrent for mass shootings. Quit shitting yourself. One gun is dangerous. Multiple guns is a crossfire. You really can't be stupid enough to believe that more gins are the solution to the problem of too many guns. That's like saying the solution to flooding is more water, the solution to fire is more fire, or the solution to debt is to spend faster. Oh, wait, that's exactly what the Republicans claim.

Mass shootings will continue, not because of the existence of 'soft targets', but because of the existence of guns. Soft targets don't shoot themselves, morons who are allowed to have guns shoot them.

Your alleged Liberties do NOT include the right to take away anyone else's safety. Period. Banning guns is NOT giving up a Liberty, because the liberty to endanger others does NOT exist in the first place, except in the minds of delusional people. The removal of guns would bring permanent, not temporary safety, at least from guns. Then you nuts that think you have a right to kill other people would just invent other weapons to do it with.

Job creation continues to be our #1 priority in Maryland, and today we received the tremendous news that Maryland businesses have created 5,100 new jobs in March.

Together, we've now recovered nearly 97% of the jobs that were lost due to the recession. Today, Maryland businesses are creating new jobs faster than any state in our region, and at the 4th fastest rate in nation in the first quarter of 2013.
