Please let it be known from Morro Bay to China my worst experience in employment I have ever had. I didn't travel and live around the world for the past 8 years to have to comeback to my own country (I'm from NY so I thought I deserved some sunshine) and have no justice! Californian law ?? Does it exsist? dirty and crooked people like Giancarlo cannot do business in New York (thank you Giuliani) I need help good citizens, I want to press charges, report the BBB whatever it takes for Giancarlo to do business straight, because he's straight like a banana. The following is copied and pasted from my wall: Flip Martin 47 mins · Morro Bay, CA ·  Left Job at Giancarlo's Ristorante Italiano Mediterraneo January 7 — Restaurant/Business Consultant, Chef, Server, Barman, etc. Morro Bay, California Worst boss and being I have ever met...full of lies and evilness. The food looks good but the place is consumed of darkness and your paying extra for BS, no wonder he doesn't have a restaurant in New York, unlawful and con artists are not allowed in New York. Not only did I get treated lower then an illegal alien, he stole and never paid me. I already have a long list of ex employees that were cheated and treated unfairly. Totally unprofessional and I regret leaving Hofbrau and Riteaid for this delinquent.

The restaurant was great. The best seat in the house is at the bar watching them prepare food it's a little noisy but well worth it. The food is over the top and well worth the price. The owner is a great guy very personable and always make sure that everything is to your liking. If you love Italian food you will love this restaurant its authentic Italian food not chain restaurant food. Make a reservation on the weekends the weekdays you probably won't need one.

The food was excellent. I have eaten there several times and have learned to go when I have time to sit down and enjoy my meal and my guests. This is not a fast food in and out restaurant.

Giancarlo's is a welcome treat to the culinary void of the central coast The food is downright exquisite. When you go, be sure to sit at the bar; you may very well find yourself serenaded in Italian by Giancarlo himself! It is very well priced menu and wine. You'll get a lot of bang for your buck Excellent menu items include: Creamy mushroom soup, crisp salads, and gourmet pizza. The seafood, both appetizers and entrées, are their specialty; but you won't want to leave without leaving room for dessert. I have gone to Giancarlo's since their first weekend and have seen the affect of great word of mouth. You'll find this place full every night of the week. But they always seem to have room for one more table and can typically fit you in even without a reservation. You'll find plenty of parking in the back or on the street. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion where great food is appreciated.

Overall the meal was good and enjoyable. The Calamari with Shrimp starter was good, but a bit bready. The Spinach with Bacon Salad was tasty, but not freshly mixed and a little dry. My wife enjoyed the Ravioli Scampi and I enjoyed the Pork Bocconcino, both very tasty. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu, unfortunately it was soggy and covered with a red cherry syrup, not something you would experience in Italy. We also selected a Golden Bear Syrah which was not available, and had the Curtis 2007 Syrah instead. Though slightly peppery and acidic, it went well with the meal. All in all a good meal, slightly over priced, but you are at a Restaurantt on the Central California Coast.

What a refreshing over delivery of exquisite food. We sat at the bar and watched in awe as the Chef prepared our food less than 3 feet in front of our continually teased noses. Despite my best attempt to remember exactly how the Pasta Putanesca was prepared I have failed miserably to recreate it at home. My wife's meal of encrusted Halibut was equally scrumptious and we both were amazed at how wonderful the meal had turned out. Very rarely do I feel that a restaurant has gone above and beyond my expectations but Giancarlo's certainly did. We will be returning for many years to come.

I've been to Giancarlo's about seven times over the last year and have always had great service and delicious food. It's fun to sit at the bar and watch the chef's cook in an immaculately clean kitchen. They have a nice wine selection & a refreshing limoncello. Literally every dish I've tried there has been fantastic. There's always a ton of specials; and with a large menu to begin with the only problem is deciding what to order. I love all the salads, steaks, pastas and appetizers I've tried. Some favorites: an Italian burrata with vine ripe tomatoes and crostini, an ahi tuna and seaweed salad appetizer, the braised shortrib ravioli, and the bacon wrapped Niman Ranch pork tenderloin with gorgonzola gnocchi.
