In Salt Lake City, Mayor Jackie Biskupski announced a creative way to handle extremely overdue parking fines which is referred to as the 90 Day Parking Amnesty Plan. Donating $10 to a selection of nonprofit agencies is rewarded with a 60% discount on an outstanding parking fine.
"When this was first proposed to me by our finance team, it sounded like a win-win for everyone involved" said Biskupski.
United Public Safety loves to see creativity at work! This solution benefits everyone. Good going Salt Lake City! As the school year approaches, Universities are preparing for their students to arrive. The University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, for the first time in the school's history, will be requiring students and faculty to display a parking permit. Students will have to pay for their permits, which are anywhere from $60-$120, while permits for faculty and staff at the university are free.
"Hopefully this money can go towards parking so that way there will be less hardship of finding a parking spot and more accessibility to campus." said student Christopher Welch about having to pay for his parking permit.
Does your campus need help issuing and tracking permits? Issuing warnings? Violations? United Public Safety is up for the task and can have your campus ready in as little as two weeks. Sign up for a FREE informational webinar today at http://upsafety.net/contact/webinar-request-form

It's important to have a system that works effectively to create harmony, not distrust, within a community. Keep information accurate and efficient with UPsafety's integrated software solutions. ToCite features include GPS locations, real time ticket issuance, and scofflaw alerts. An enforcement solution should instill confidence with officers and the community.

Soon people won’t have to turn their pockets inside out or dig around the pens, Tic Tacs and hair pins at the bottom of their purses in search of change to feed the city’s parking meters.

No one likes to receive a parking ticket, and in Los Angeles, people are quite unhappy with the way that the city is handling its parking fines. This week, the California appellate court stated that L.A. can not use a private contractor to achieve justice.
The court put an end to the city's contract with Xerox and said that the city is now, "required to conduct the initial review, and cannot contract with Xerox to preform that duty," they also added that the company was, "a vendor that earned a profit per ticket paid and was also paid to conduct administrative hearings."
United Public Safety hopes that L.A. can find it's parking harmony soon, and in the meanwhile if you'd like to learn how to give harmony to your parking community, sign up for a FREE informational webinar today at http://upsafety.net/contact/webinar-request-form/
