Really neat place. Been going for almost forty years. Food isn't quite as good as it used to be and prices have crept up quite a bit but still a great experience. Personally couldn't love the tea more but it does have strong lemon flavor. So many good choices. Chicken stew, beef hash, burgers, chicken strips are huge!

Chicken stew is awesome but the sweet tea had entirely too much lemon flavor! I like lemon in my tea but it was so strong my husband nor myself could drink it. As always service was excellent!

STOP COMPLAINING YANKEES I'm third generation coming to the Beacon. My kids will be taken here too. 1940s diner that has NOT changed a bit and thats how we like it. They yell out your order like they always have(so dont be shocked or think its rude.. thats just how it is). The burgers and onion rings are to die for and you likely will eventually if you eat here every day because EVERYTHING is greasy.. typical southern food. I've never tried anything but the burgers because let me be honest.. once you've tasted the best, why even stray from it? You get a ton of food and the tea is super sweet as it should be. I grow tired of seeing 1 star reviews from idiots who have no idea what this place is or what its about. "It's dirty" "Theres too much food" "They yell". Go back up north PLEASE.. I get so sick of seeing our traditional diners and stores getting run down from reviews by ignorant people who expect an olive garden experience at every restaurant.

It was not a drive-in. Not clean, everything had a greasy feel. Expensive. They give you a ton of onion rings but they aren't even cooked. I'm so surprised this was on Triple D. I wouldn't go back.

I've heard this place been referred to as an "institution" and "inspiration to all aspiring burger restaurants. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. My better half and I walked into this disheveled and unsanitary establishment with an anticipation to spoil are famished palettes. The pee-pee tea was terrible, so I attempted to get rid of the foul tea with the taste of the burger, a mistake indeed. The meat of the burger was soaked in water, tasteless, and simply low quality. When my adoring wife said “this meat tastes like it’s been soaked in dishwater” I knew it was time to go. We really felt disappointed that people are being misled by the food industry simply because a burger joint has been around for 60 years. Knowledge is power, and I recommend not honoring this place with your hard earned money. We all deserve better quality in life.

Worse place to eat ever! Scary parking lot and staff, pricey and nasty food. Absolutely disgusting building, I hope cockroaches didn't crawl in my purse while I was eating.

Great burger with fresh toppings. Fries and onion rings left a little too be desired, but still pretty good.
