Yes, there is still now, as there was 150 years ago, a lot of rage against...well...I think it's against the perceived unfairness of having to share society and culture, and gated communities, with Blacks (and, no doubt, other groups). I obviously can't get into Zimmerman's head but I can imagine him having some of this rage. I also believe that Martin's death was not something that he actually wanted, but unconscious drives are sometimes more powerful than conscious ones, especially when we are completely disconnected from them.
