This review is for the Tea Cellar in the Park Hyatt. My boyfriend and I were searching for a coffee and/or tea place around 10:30pm on a Friday night. Because it's D.C., there were only a few options and none of them were particularly appealing. However, as I was scrolling through Yelp, I came across Tea Cellar. Opened until 12:30am? We're there! It took a minute or two for us to realize the Tea Cellar was in the Park Hyatt (the location pin that showed up on Yelp was not where Park Hyatt is, despite the address being correct). Having been to Blue Duck Tavern before, we were surprised that there was also a tea place in the Hyatt. We'd never seen it before. However, once we walked in and asked, we realized the Tea Cellar is adjacent to Blue Duck Tavern. Essentially, they're in the same area, with most tea goers sitting in the comfy armchairs by the high windows. After we sank comfortably into the armchairs, we both separately ordered. I decided to go with the moonlight jasmine blossom and my boyfriend with the 1999 vintage pu-erh. My tea was scented with jasmine flowers. It's a ball that's been hand tied to open in the shape of flower. The server brought over individual glass teapot warmers that keep the tea warm with a tealight candle and matching glass teapots containing our respective teas. I had to wait for my tea ball to blossom and then it was ready to drink. Each teapot contains enough tea for 7-8 pours (could have been more, I lost count). The tea was delicious and fragrant. I love drinking tea and Tea Cellar provides the perfect venue and ambiance. The teas are costly (you're paying for the Park Hyatt name), but I'd definitely go back every now and then. It's a nice place to unwind, drink some tea, and read a newspaper or work on a paper. I believe the cheapest tea costs $8 and there's also a 1985 pu-erh tea that costs $300! Can't say I'd spring $300 for tea even if only less than 7kg have been produced worldwide. I could go for any of the green, black, herbal, and white teas though. Open 2:30pm to 12:30am daily!

My husband and my favorite Park Hyatt in the Hyatt collection because of its impeccable service, access to the Blue Duck Tavern (try the 2-person apple pie, it's divine!), and top-notch aesthetics (the paintings and furniture in the room are all beautiful and tasteful). It's a bit expensive, but worth every penny. Consider splurging for a room here the next time you're near Foggy Bottom!

Service was mostly impeccable. Midday Saturday, service staff might have been overwhelmed and would forget things like the extra honey with tea, and when the nyt was requested we were still given the post in the morning. But these were trivial when considering our stay as a whole. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Terrific accomodations, excellent food and world class staff. There was an error in my room service and the manager personally handled it with experience and professionalism. I look forward to staying here again the next time I visit DC.

Stayed at Park Hyatt Washington with friends for a hotel party night, and it really was an incredible stay. The location is perfect, the help desk were very helpful with all our demands all throughout the night, ambiance and every thing about this Hotel was just awesome. I cannot recommend this Hotel more highly, it is very luxurious, and I loved all the decor in our room. I strongly recommend you to stay here if you happen to be in town, even for a short stay, and be prepared to be treated like royalty.

Had the pleasure of attending a ladies tea so decided to stay here as well. This is one of my top places to stay in DC. I loved the room, especially the bathroom! During tea time, the staff managed the large (about 10 of us) group of ladies well. The cookies and snacks were too good to practice any sort of self restraint. We loved the variety of teas too. The space itself is very clean, luxurious and a great setting for conversation. You don't even feel like you're in a hotel. I can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful experience, the staff was so very helpful and accommodating. The parking valet service even changed my flat tire for me, excellent, excellent customer service, above and beyond! I would absolutely recommend this hotel for your stay in D.C.!
