I hadn't realized before that every small hole is really a pinhole and it's like having so many pinhole cameras.

Watching the HBO documentary on the thrilla in manila

Really compelling story about racial politics, Ali's duplicity and both boxer's amazing determination and strength. Also about Frazier, still frozen in time in that bitter rivalry. Frazier died today, apparently in very modest circumstances and largely forgotten compared to Ali.

I find this time system worse than useless - I really don't care if I do go to work in the dark in the morning - but I particularly miss having some sunlight after work. So I would prefer the exact reverse of this system. Make the mornings even worse in the winter but do permit some sunlight after work! But I am told there are so called "morning" people who might object..

This "freakonomics"-style video on Daylight Savings Time gets better and better as it builds. As a Hawaii resident, I can tell you things are just fine when a state does not participate in daylight savings time, and I can attest to misbooking international flights (and even a few conference calls) due to timezone confusion. After experiencing several nights of bad sleep this week, I was intrigued to hear what this video says about the effects of daylight savings time on sleep. Best quote from the video: "Yo dawg, I heard you like timezones so we put some more timezones in your timezone!" Thanks +Colin Grey

I knew one of these "morning" people once. It didn't end well.

The food tastes good but I find most of the choices a little rich/oily.

Interesting article on a problem I had not realized- that education in India fails in part because the curriculum is far above the actual level of the children- rather than pushing them harder it makes their classes meaningless.

One of the best meals I've had in London. A mixture of standard dishes along with authentic Goan and Parsee dishes. Not too noisy either so you don't have to yell to talk

I was expecting more. The fried green tomatoes were great. The louisiana drum was very good - but over salted. The étouffée was also fine. The service was excellent and the atmosphere upscale but not stuffy.

Great, except for the location! An old house, well appointed and maintained with good staff. The breakfasts are good and the host has a ton of good suggestions. But you are not near anything interesting. The cable car is very convenient but slow. Walking to the French quarter is ok but the walk is not very pleasant and not something I'd be comfortable doing at night.

Excellent food, humdrum atmosphere. Of the places we ate at I would rank them as K Paul - great mains, service, ambience and starters Mulates - also felt more local, good service, not great ambience Cochon - great food, a bit on the salty side Commanders palace - confusing service, not very Louisiana specific it seemed, but good food. Cafe Soule - not in the same ballpark, but still ok food

Great ambience and service. The food was very good but a little rich for my taste (a lot of salt and bacon on every dish it seemed). The bean pie was probably the best dish we had. Based on the dishes we had at least (small plates) the restaurant is not particularly New Orleans... No blackened, spicy, dishes, which disappointed me
