The Spring Dance Concert is one of the biggest events of the semester, and it starts 8 p.m. Thursday at the Redfield Proscenium Theatre. Tickets are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors; $10 for children age 2-18 and University faculty and staff; $5 for University students with ID (limited quantity). Dance fans can catch three more performances on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., with a final show on Sunday at 2 p.m. http://bit.ly/1Ifck3O #NVArts365

Tonight at 7:30 p.m. is the final concert of the season for the University Symphony. They will be joined by guest oboe soloist, Eric Fassbender in a program that will include Dvorak's famous, “New World Symphony.” #NVArts365

This Sunday, Music Department faculty member DeAunn Davis will present a recital featuring stunning works for French horn and piano. Tonight, don't miss artist Tehching Hsieh talk and reception for his famed exhibition One Year Performance 1980-1981. The artist talk will start at 5:00 p.m., and be held in the Wells Fargo Auditorium, Room 124, Mathewson-IGT Knowledge Center. The Spring Dance Concert is next week, and you won’t want to miss out! The program will feature students performing works by faculty members Rosie Trump and Eve Allen and guest choreographer Kristen Avinsino. Student dancers will additionally perform a piece from Gallim's repertory. The Gallim Dance company will highlight the event. Music lovers! This is the week for you! Starting tomorrow you can catch the University Symphony in their final concert for the Spring semester. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at Nightingale Concert Hall. Tickets are $5, or free to students with I.D.
The Reno Jazz Festival at the University of Nevada, Reno, kicks off on Thursday night with a performance featuring saxophonist Donny McCaslin with the Collective. Friday night, the SFJAZZ Collective and Vertical Voices with University Jazz Lab Big Band will rock Lawlor Events Center. The Festival will close out on Saturday night with a showcase and awards ceremony.
Finally, TubaFest is this Sunday starting at 10:00 a.m. The event will include a group warm-up and clinic with University tuba instructor Adam Snider, performances by the University’s Tuba Studio and Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, and a final concert featuring a mass tuba-euphonium ensemble. This semester, the School of the Arts and the Department of Theatre and Dance is thrilled to welcome the Gallim Dance company as this year's Visiting Artist in Residence lead by Artistic Director Andrea Miller. In early March, Miller held a 10-day residency at the University. She held auditions and taught 16 student dancers a piece that will be performed at the Spring Dance Concert.
