Considering the fact that the Constitution does prohibit the federal government from infringing on our right to own guns, second amendment, as well as prohibits the federal government from offering welfare, tenth amendment, there is definitely a case there. Plus there is no drug testing for a driver's license and that is much more dangerous.

Maybe we make the choice based on the fact that we can control and limit the risk of suicide or domestic violence, but we have no control over other people's actions. Therefore, the risk of violence against us is far greater than the risk of us using the gun against ourselves or our family.

Could someone help me understand what the argument is here? Are we supposed to be making sure we are prepared to fight off evil corporations and evil government?
a little thought experiment for you:

your 1st Amendment rights are non-existent in the corporate world

your freedom to assemble is non-existent in the corporate world

what do you think is going to happen when corporations no longer need your happy little asses to make a profit on weapons and your guns become a liability to them? is your precious 2nd Amendment going to matter to the private security force armed with military grade hardware comes to take your guns? ... you might want to give this some serious thought ... you don't think they'll let you keep them if it becomes inconvenient for them do you? the Bill of Rights doesn't apply to the private sector sweeties ... keep giving your rights away ... ;-)

American workers are among the most creative and productive people who have ever lived, and it wasn’t a corrupt Jimmy Hoffa protection racket that made them great. They aren’t weaklings, and they don’t need protection — not from you, not from Donald Trump, not from Bernie Sanders, and not from James P. Hoffa. All they need is a chance to use the talents and the strength God gave them.
