LPS Event #110: Level Horizon
THEME:Level Horizon. The horizon line is one of the most powerful elements for any landscape photograph that has a horizon. A horizon line that isn't level is like "nails on a chalkboard" for your viewer. They will want to escape from your photograph as quickly as possible. The goal of any great landscape photograph is to get the viewer's eye to linger on the image for an extended period of time and let that image tell a story. For this event, we are practicing a level horizon line. That means that the top of the photo and the bottom of the photo should be parallel to that horizon line. Let's showcase your BEST work!!
What if your horizon isn't level? In most post processing software there is a function that will level a horizon. Use it!! You can also rotate your photo to where the horizon is level.
Special Rules:
1. Share your landscape photograph that displays the theme.

LPS Event #112: Leading Lines
THEME:Leading Lines. One of the strongest elements of composition is leading lines. Find natural elements in your landscape that leads to the focal object of your image. This might be a fence, sidewalk, trail, rocks etc. You don't want lines to lead out of your photo.
The goal is for those lines to lead INTO your photo and more importantly to the primary focal point of your image. In our theme photo, the fence and road form leading lines to the beautiful mountains beyond. It's natural for the eye of the viewer to follow those lines. Let's see your BEST example!!
Special Rules:
1. Share your landscape photograph that displays the theme.
2. In a comment on the photograph tell us about this photograph. Where is this place located? What were you trying to achieve? What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them? We want to know the details about your photograph. THE COMMENT IS REQUIRED. You will have 1 hour after posting your entry to include an appropriate comment. Those entries without an appropriate comment one hour after posting WILL BE REMOVED.
3. Other participants will be discussing on your post and asking you questions. Please join the discussion on other photographs as well.
4. This event is all about PARTICIPATION and DISCUSSION. Please don't post a photo and leave. The LPS reserves the right to remove photos without your comment.
General Rules:
1) Your photo MUST be ORIGINAL. If you post the work of someone else, you will be removed from the event.
2) You MUST have complete EXIF data for your photo. Within the event, select your photo and view it large. Look for the "photo details" on the right. It should be complete with the date the photo was taken, camera and lens information, ISO, f stop, speed etc. Photos that don't have complete EXIF data in Photo Details will be removed. Others will learn from seeing what you have done.
