My first G+ post. It looks like whoever was responsible for getting me in subsequently deleted their account!
Okay... So, now I'm on Google+ (Part of Google+? Participating in Google+? I AM Google+?). Feels a lot like those early Facebook days: Lonely and not too sure what to do now... It's nice not to have that, "Oh! I wonder if I can find THIS person!" feeling, though.

I know the end isn't that near (yet), but I might as well put this out here, since the rest of you seem to be doing the same...

Twitter: @cuppojoe - Mostly comments on hockey games, rants against disappointing brands / products, occasional lapses in judgement

Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/cuppojoe_trips/ - Just a place where I document my life in pictures through a love of photography

Blog: mycaffeinatedmind.blogspot.com - The graveyard of my past thoughts, all but abandoned when G+ came along. I sense a resurrection coming...

Lastly, there's always email. If you feel like that's the way you'd like to connect with me, that's cool, too. Just drop me a private message and I'll make sure you get the address.

Hey, Google Photos users... Has the Assistant ever offered you a "Stylized Photo" that didn't look like it was created by a 4 yr old? ("Let's crank the saturation and contrast... That's STYLE!")

I've NEVER signed up for anything from Starbucks... I've NEVER had a Starbucks gift card... Yet, today I get their spam email, stating that my email address on their list. Of course, if I want to unsubscribe, all I have to do is click a link... Which results in this. Well, no surprise you can't unsubscribe me... I DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH YOU!!!

I'm going to have to let The Cloverfield Paradox percolate in my brain for a while before I decide how I feel about it. There were lots of things "wrong" with it, but who's to say which way is up when all the rules go out the window?

Have you seen it yet? What did you think?

I really dislike articles like this. They make it sound like this employer will make less than his employees. Reading carefully, though, you realize he's saying he'll make a lower hourly wage than his employees, based on his estimate of working 90 a week.

First, as the business owner, he doesn't make an hourly wage. Second, if you want to compare earnings, compare what you each take home over a given period of time. You can't divide an employee's weekly take by 40 hours, then divide yours by 90 and say that's proof you make less. Third, if you truly ARE making less than an employee in the restaurant business, you're doing it wrong and need to pursue something else.

For me, the real problem with Wesley Crusher was the acting of Wil Wheaton. Don't get me wrong... I really admire the guy and think he's a great writer and podcast host. I've just never liked his acting. Always felt like I was watching someone still in high school drama class. It makes it too hard to believe in the characters being portrayed ("Stand by Me" is the exception... That was lightning in a bottle).

And there's nothing wrong with Wheaton not being a good actor, unless that's how we (or he) choose to define him. I prefer to focus on what makes him a success.

So should he.
