Photo of the Week: Otherworldly Wonders.
Stars of the ocean show off at the BioPark. The chocolate chip sea star (Protoreaster nodosus) is named for dark brown tubercles that protect the top of its body. In this photo of the star’s underside, you can see hundreds of tube feet surrounding its mouth. Photo courtesy of Sal Galindo.

Have you slept with the sea stars at one of our overnights?

Introduction

Only a stone's throw from the legendary Rio Grande, the ABQ BioPark invites you to explore the wonders of nature at our zoo, botanic garden, aquarium and fishing ponds.  See polar bears swim, hear a trumpeting elephant family, descend into the diversity of a coral reef, and roam through gardens designed to delight the senses.

Home to thousands of animals and plants, the ABQ BioPark offers fun and learning for the whole family. It’s naturally amazing!

The Albuquerque Biological Park is a division of the City of Albuquerque's Cultural Services Department.
