I hadn't considered this yet: +Chris Schreiber says that Google+ is gonna be HUGE for online video.

Are you sharing videos on your Google+? How many of your friends share videos versus text updates and photos?

"Our goal is to place our authoritative journalism at the center of a social media experience."

While I'm not a Forbes reader, I've been following Lewis DVorkin's efforts at transforming their digital presence closely as he's doing some really interesting work in marrying old media sensibilities with new media opportunities. While the technological tools he's developing are very interesting (their editorial dashboard makes me green with envy!), I find the underlying philosophical shift that's really driving the transformation to be far more fascinating.

If your editors don't fully grasp what's changed over the past decade, how the internet is ultimately about participation and having a voice (not, as the pundits love to cry, a rejection of gatekeepers and "authority"), then the coolest tools imaginable are useless in their hands.

The EPIC2014 video he links to is really interesting and worth watching, too. There are shades of Google+ in the boogeyman at the end, but it's not the inevitable conclusion by any stretch, and DVorkin seems committed to enabling a more positive, collaborative outcome.
