A new era for entrepreneurs

An entrepreneur (the sum of the following parts): is able to create and build a business or organization from practically nothing; make things happen for him or herself by accepting responsibility; turns a set-back into an opportunity; see a gap; sense an opportunity; maintain effort until his or her objective had been achieved; build a founding team of talents and expertise around him or her to compliment his or her abilities in areas where he or she is less knowledgeable or skilled; initiate and do; has the know how to find, marshal and control resources (often owned by others) and make sure he or she does not run out of money when the money is being needed the most; takes calculated risks, both personal and financially to then do everything possible to turn the odds in his or her favor. The father of this definition, the late Jeffry Timmons used the 1999 movie “October Sky” to beautifully illustrates this definition in action.

We could for the fun of it turn the above definition on its head to define what “not being entrepreneurial” looks like: works only with what is already available; waits for government or someone else to make things happen for him or her and blame them; a set-back results in victimhood; thinks that all needs and wants is being addressed; sees confusion, chaos and contradictions rather than opportunities; gives up when the going gets tough; is a lone ranger who knows everything and can do everything by him or herself; only watching, describing and analyzing what others does; cannot find loans or investments, nowhere and runs out of money; draws back in fear with poor effort when faced by risks.

Interesting to see Harrismith moves through the four seasons. Sometimes we get snow and sometimes we get fires. These pictures show the past twelve months.
