First Quest! So due to a gaming drought. I bought this for my wife so she could give DM-ing a try. She was intimidated by the idea of running a game but the first session went very well and contained several key elements of a good game as you will see. Spoilers Ahead My 5 person party starts in the Pub where we hear news of a mission. So it wasn't long before we arrive at the castle ruins in search of a missing elf and pondering rumors of an Orb of Dragon-kind. The strongest party members manage to lift the gates and gain entry to the first room. In moments we were fighting for our lives against two really nasty gnolls. Beldar the brave fighter was slashed by the beast's longsword before he was killed with two bowshots from the Elf. The other gnoll was charmed by Morganth the Mysterious and we watched him closely in case of rebellion. We continued our exploration and bribed some kobolds to reveal some directions to the elf prisoner. Unfortunately they neglected to mention that we would run into a lizard man shaman on the way! Next thing I know the fighter is rolling saving throw vs. a fear spell and the magic-user is dropped on the floor like a bag of doorknobs! We eventually landed some solid blows on the shaman and the elf again delivered the final kill-shot. A careful inspection by the thief revealed a poison needle trap on the chest under the altar. We waited nervously with bated breath while he disabled the trap successfully. It contained sixteen silver pieces and two scrolls! Some more inspections proved profitable when we discovered that some good magic must remain in this ruin since the altar actually healed our unconscious magic-user! Rumors, battle, charming magic, bribes, kobolds, poison traps and fear...a great collection of adventure events for First Quest :)
Exactly it has very detailed instructions and the DM will occasionally read a prompt or describe the room and then play Track #9(For Example). The players hear some poor sniveling voices that seem afraid and eventually we bribe the kobolds with 10 gp and get some directions :)
