We came to the Delta King, as a "Friend" :) of ours hosted a business conference on the boat. We weren't able to stay at the hotel itself, as it was completely booked that weekend. However, the ambiance of the venue was very classy and authentic. The conference room was pretty good. However, the WiFi access was really bad, which is our only complaint. We did enjoy some food and beverage in one of the many places to eat and drink here. Both the food and beverage were of high caliber. It definitely has a rustic feel to it, and you get that historical sense of the area. It's nice being on the waterfront and having so many places to visit within walking distance in Old Sacramento!

I can't speak for the waiters who were very approachable and made sure our experience here was superb, but the house manager some old white guy has no sense of hospitality and customer service. Besides his obvious demeanor which held a very obvious sense of detest for most of the customers [me, my friends] he had the nerve to direct me away from the establishment without a single apology or "I'm sorry." Simply because I alone was carrying an item of food from one of the surrounding restaurants. At his age you think he'd have a better sense of experience on how to politely and correctly tell a customer they can not bring outside food in

They have a great restaurant inside. The rooms are a little small, but what do you expect from a Riverboat from the 1800s. The waitstaff in the restaurant will either ignore you or take really good care of you... kind of just depends on the get.

When we first started looking for a wedding venue, we didn't know about this boat. We had seen it for years and knew it was a hotel but never knew it was a restaurant with wonderful food & a wedding venue. We came in for a tour & fell in love. Our original venue was plain, boring, & nothing to WOW you with. But this boat is adorable & inspirable. You have to have a love for older historical places because boy does this boat have a colorful history. We booked it immediately which fully inspired our decor & theme. I'm pretty crafty and I created "Passport" Save the Dates & "Boarding Pass" Invitations that had the boats emblem on it. Everyone thought it was authentic invitations from the boat itself. We used driftwood from Folsom Lake with faux flowers as centerpieces. My Husband to be made pier poles for our ceremony. The staff was awesome we really couldn't have ask for a better coordinator. Janice B. really went above & beyond to make the experience from start to finish smooth & really put my mind at ease. The night of the wedding the servers were friendly & the food was really great (That was straight from our guests). I didn't hear any complaints about the quality of the food. We had our ceremony at 6:00pm on the Landing Dock just along the side of the boat. The landing dock has been fully replaced and I was thankful for that. It was a hot day but at that time the dock is shaded & a cool breeze was running through & complementary water was served also. We had our reception in the Paddlewheel Saloon and at night the large window shows all the lights of the city & is very romantic. The room has a bar in it & the dance floor right in front of the big red paddlewheel. I would recommend this venue to everyone. Take a tour, learn the history, View the photos online, & head up to their bar and grill afterwards. Sit out on the deck overlooking the river. Be sure to try their flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean Ice cream. You will be amazed like we were.

My new bride & I stayed the weekend after our wedding night as a gift from my parents. We had a package to see the murder mystery dinner theater & an overnight stay. The food, drinks, & the show were great! The staff was extremely friendly and they don't have many employees so they lobby staff recalled speaking with me and left me feeling very welcome. Every member of the staff is courteous & friendly. The rooms are quite small but quaint all the same. we stayed in what we were told was an upgraded room. Honestly, I don't want to see the room we would have had without an upgrade. The furniture & design of the room was very nice. A few complaints: The bedding was very tattered. Not tattered then repaired, but torn and left to tear more. tacky. The shower stall was an experiance all it's own. you get in, shut the curtain and are left in the dark quite literally. some lighting in there would have been nice. In addition to the dark, I was nearly assaulted by the shower head which looked and felt like it hadn't seen a cleaning tool or bottle of CLR since the ship sank in the san fransisco harbor in 1983. On my way out of the shower I glanced at the A/C vent and found that it was literally caked with dust and grime. That sight left me wondering what the A/C filters looked like. In conclusion go for the entertainment & the food. Pack your wallet with cash first, but don't stay the night.
