Martins has been heralded as one of Goa's best restaurants for many many years now. Celeb reviewing the place has helped cement its name on every best of Goa list. Being an avid fan of seafood, i had to visit this place. And i loved every bit of it. The ambience is something that, surprisingly, very few places fail to capture. It has a very Goa vibe to it without selling out for the foreign guests. There is no synthesized music; two oldies holding guitars go to each table and take requests. Its a fine touch which gives a very local feel to the place. The food is where its at, and in this regard Martins does not disappoint. We had the rawa fried mussels and the pork assad for starters, mutton xacuti, fish curry and rice and the prawns stuffed papad for main course, and the home made pudding with ice cream for desserts. Except for the pork assad, everything we had was delectable, and dearly made us wish that more people would have joined us(there was just the two of us), so we could order and get to taste a bigger variety of the dishes from the menu. Overall, this is the place which can complete your goa experience for you. It is homely, serves great food, creates a very local experience, and will not hit you very hard on the wallet. An absolute must try!

Attended a wedding at this place last week, and i have to say, its one of the few experiences, that make me want to forget everything past, present and future, and just enjoy life. Spanning 45 acres, this place is as big as the naked eye can see. Every room will be in a villa divided into 2 or 3 rooms. The rooms are beautiful and everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. While most 5 star hotels focus on the lavishness, high standards of architecture and technology, Park Hyatt focuses on the beauty of nature and the serene experience people yearn for when they go to Goa. They have their own private beach, and once you book a room, the entire thing is yours to explore. If you've a honeymoon trip to plan, and you are confused about whether to stay in India or go abroad, give this place a serious consideration.

I've only ever had 3 dishes at this restaurant - The Chocolate cake, the Almond cake, and the waffles with butter and honey. I'll review them in the same order. Chocolate cake - Recollect anything that you know about chocolate cakes, and throw it out of the window. This cake takes the sweet out, and brings the dark back in, and turns a chocolate cake into an epiphany. A cake will never be the same again. Almond cake - My personal favorite! This cake just melts in your mouth. It is warm, moist and utterly delicious. The richness of almonds complements the soft and easy on the stomach cake really well and will leave you happy and craving for more. Waffles - This is your standard fare, although its made really well. The butter and honey complement each other perfectly, and will leave you with a satisfied feeling. The place is well lit, well structured, and with a very helpful cast of servers who are prompt and hospitable. The only restricting factor is that the place itself is very small and often feels cramped for space. Other than that, i feel the place is quite good, and will have me coming back for a long time for the delicious almond cake.

I was in Bangalore from the past 10 months and the brewery scene is big over there. Mumbai hasn't caught up with the quality of the bangalore brews, and this might remain the case for sometime. The one brewery that does come close to the quality displayed by the Bangalore counterparts is The White Owl. Getting to the place can be quite a pain, but once you're in, you'll immediately feel the hype. The ambience is superb and tries to create a fusion feel of retro plus new age.The dim lights coupled with the classy look of the bar give the place an old school feel. The beers on their menu are quite distinct from each other. Each of them has a very subtle character, which is honestly a turn off for someone who likes his beer strong and flavorsome. The brewery is hyped throughout the bombay crowd, but honestly, i failed to see the hype. Even so, the quality of the beer is superb, and even though i was disappointed by the subtle nature of the beers, i loved the taste overall. The real star of the show is the food. We have the tenderloin stake, lamb stew and the hero of the day - the chicken puff pie. All of the dishes were delectable, and left us happy and satisfied. Same goes for the desserts,. All in all, a very highly recommended place for food lovers and beer enthusiasts alike. Just don't go in with monumental expectations from the beers, and you'll love them
