Our very first visit to a tree farm was a success! Elging Christmas Tree Farm had tons of beautiful trees to choose from, and I'd say we adopted the perfect little guy to bring into our home for the holidays. :) #christmas #christmastree #newtraditions

this is so right. we all need compassion and love for each other - always and in always. if this election has a silver lining, it is that hopefully those unhappy with the outcome will take their passion, their issue, their concern for america - and FIGHT for that. don't just be mad for the moment and move on in a couple of weeks. take your energy now and put it toward something productive. i know i plan to. ♥ ♥ be the change. #election2016 #imwithherstill

Shaboo was my 6,000 lb friend at the Elephant Village in Rajasthan. The village houses 120 rescued elephants and 150 mahout families. I spent some time with a man named Hussey and his family as I learned how to communicate, feed, bathe and walk Shaboo.

One of the coolest experiences of my LIFE was climbing on her back. At first I didn't want to, but the mahouts said it's the most effective way to take their elephants for their daily walks. So, I stood in front of Shaboo, held onto her ears and she lowered her big beautiful trunk. As I stepped slowly onto her trunk, she began raising me up up up into the air until I was even with the top of her head. I crawled gently over her forehead and onto her shoulders. We were both pretty happy!

A monkey and her prayer flags at Swayambhunath Temple in Kathmandu. The monkeys here are considered holy because, centuries ago, Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom, lived at the temple. He grew his hair long and got head lice. Legend has it that these lice turned into monkeys - and here they are today. Who knew lice could be so cute??
