SharkCat! This was last night's craft project. This is really +Kevin D'Aquila's fault, since he gave me the "Cats in Hats" book of patterns for my birthday.

In March 2013, I finished my first Project 365. To kick off 2014, I had decided to do another one, spanning an entire calendar year.

This one was even harder than the first one, I think. I started off pretty strong, not relying on cat photos, but as work and life got a little more crazy, I began taking pictures out of habit, and I felt like I lost my creative spark.

I think this is the last Project 365 I'll do. For Christmas this year, Kevin gave me a book of 52 weekend photography projects, and I think I want to use those as a basis for a Project 52 for 2015. I think weekly photos will be a better balance between keeping my skills sharp and being inspired to be creative.

Slow-Cooker Chicken Burrito Bowl (gluten-free, dairy-free)
Life has gotten in the way of this Slacker Gourmet these past few weeks. Our oldest cat, Oliver , was diagnosed with lymphoma in March (following over a month of mysterious symptoms and red herrings leading to incorrect diagnoses), and the 3 weeks that foll...

Oven-Cooked Bacon: Which Method Works Better?
My name is Val, and I love bacon. (Hi Val!) However, I don't love cooking bacon. Standing over the stove, with my vision slowly being obscured by the thin film of bacon grease covering my glasses... I'm not interested. Sure, it's great to have a batch of ba...
