How To Analyze Car Problems.  -

Hi Scotty, love your videos. I have a huge huge issue with my Hyundai Sonata 2 litre diesel. I was wondering where my oil was disappearing to and through an investigation I found it's entering the air intake pipe just after the air flow meter before the turbo. Now I had a cascade of problems recently with oil pressure and frying my turbo from oil starvation, anyway I had the turbo replaced, intercooler cleaned, sump removed, fond the pick up almost blocked with what looks like carbon deposits, new oil and filter put in, car is turning on the key and driving ok, except down on power at the high end, I replaced the air flow meter and nothing, these engine are known to have excessive blow by but compression seems fine and emissions are within parameters. Any ideas how to stop oil getting into air intake and I've noticed maybe two or three of my lifters are getting noisy too, much appreciated Scotty

blow by isn't checked by compression, cause the oil control rings are under the compression rings and throw oil down into the engine in the block. Odds are engine is just flat worn out

Cooling System Repairs  -

Hi Scotty, love your videos. I've a question for ya. I've a 2007 Hyundai Sonata UK model (diesel), when my car is idling for a short while the heater blower blows warm humid air, when I drive it cools to the right temperature. This is always when I've got it set to cool with the ac off. Ac works fine but at idle in traffic is struggling to cool because of the warmer air blowing. How do I fix this?
Question 2, is remapping a good idea for better fuel economy?

remapping will change lots of stuff, make it run eve slower if you set it for better mileage.  Check the heater control valve to see if it's sticking open or if the computer is opening the heater blend door all the time, but takes a dealer scan tool to check that out

Good auto recyclers, we'll organised and tidy about inventory. Professional and terms of business quite clear.

One stop shop for food, fuel, sit down, refresh and explore the Barack Obama exhibition upstairs, although I found that a bit too irish.
