All the attention we're receiving for our environmental initiatives is making us blush! Read about our Puerto Rico liner services team’s participation in the SmartWay Transport Partnership in Global Business North America. The partnership pairs the @EPA with industry to assess the environmental and energy efficiency of moving goods through the supply chain. Crowley is contributing to the partnership’s goals by saving 170.3 million barrels of oil; $24.9 billion in fuel costs; 72.8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide; 1.5 million tons of nitrogen oxides; and 59,000 tons of particulate matter via our green initiatives. http://crow.ly/2mil8Bb

Happy President's Day! Remembering the origins of this holiday - George Washington's birthday was established first as a U.S. federal holiday celebrated on the third Monday of February in honor of the first President of the United States, who was born February 22, 1732. Although President Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, Feb. 12, was never a federal holiday, nearly half of the state governments have officially renamed their Washington's Birthday observances as "Presidents' Day", "Washington and Lincoln Day", or other such designations. Over the years, President's Day has become known as an occasion to honor all persons who have served as president.

Crowley has moved its Washington DC office to better serve its government customers, including the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) and the Navy Yard. The new location puts the company closer to clients, while maintaining close proximity to Congressional offices. It also enables more networking with potential teaming partners. As World War I increased the need for vessels to transport goods to Australia, Tom Crowley raised the sunken coal barge, City of Panama, from the bottom of the Oakland estuary, repaired her, converted her into a five-masted schooner named her Crowley, and completed numerous voyages to Australia, each time loaded with some 54,000 cases of coal. #Crowley125 #TBT
