Creating conversations that lead to change
Creating conversations that lead to change

I am very excited to announce that mine and +Kath Roberts' book is going to be published imminently. Based on the premise that organisations don't change people do, we explore how that is possible using #colour based on our work with global organisations. If you want to discover more then you can download the first chapter for free from our website Breitbart, +Susan Cox, +Dan Oestreich +Gina Fiedel I expect this will be of particular interest to you.

I have been involved in a private conversation on G+ with +Dan Oestreich, a man I admire enormously and am now in the process of getting to know a lot better and all that has come about because of a misunderstanding that led to a bit of discomfort on both sides before flowering into a growing mutual respect.

So what you may ask? I have been watching the views on the recent American election with interest. If I am honest after Brexit I wasn't surprised by the outcome. And yet I respect that many are still in shock, reeling and trying to make sense of it. My initial response I found in words by Thoreau: “If we will be quiet and ready enough, we shall find compensation in every disappointment.”

From the world of colour we understand that 2016 is the year of the Tower which means it is a year when change is enforced upon us if we refuse to look in the mirror and embrace that part of our shadow that we are not yet comfortable with. We experienced that here in the UK in June with the outcome of the EU referendum and now the US has had a taste of it with the recent presidential elections on 9/11 no less. The date is significant and yes I realise in the US it would read 11/9 but interestingly from a numerological perspective 9 refers to the end of a cycle.

When we have taken the time to reflect who knows what will emerge. However I firmly believe that order comes out of chaos. This could be the impetus that we need to bring about the change we so need to see in the world. I want to share the following article with you because it is the first thing I have read that actually makes sense of what's happening. So I encourage you to have a read and see what you think for yourself -
This is a chance for us to come together and explore what we have been ignoring for the longest time and start to embrace the underbelly of our collective shadow so that ego doesn't win. So who's ready to take some time to be introspective and heal up some of their own wounds for the sake of the collective consciousness so we can truly radiate love rather than fear?

John O'Donohue expresses some of the sentiment that I believe is necessary going forward if we are to heal our world. His poem is called Coming home to yourself:

May all that is unforgiven in you
Be released.
May your fears yield
their deepest tranquilities.
May all that is unlived in you
Blossom into a future
Graced with love.

This morning I happened to glance at twitter and saw Donald Trump's tweet about global warming in which he accuses China of making it up in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive.

It is so absurd a view it's laughable. However as yesterday's election result showed us many in America lapped this up. We can grieve and judge the situation but none of that will help. What is needed right now is the ability to understand what is happening.

In a sense Trump was clever, he tapped into people's fears and said he would stop the pain. Many white working class people have felt ignored for the longest time and so they revolted. Others are sick of the same old same old, seeing the political system as corrupt and broken. We saw that here in the UK with the Brexit vote in June. In popular culture we have seen a similar theme play out in Jodie Foster's film "Money Monster."

Now it is the time for those of us who have awoken to start pouring love and compassion onto these troubled waters. More than ever we need to come together as conscious entrepreneurs and show that it is possible to have a conscience and make money. It is our responsibility to model and to show others how to create the new paradigm so that it is not just the rhetoric of great people like +Charles Eisenstein but actually part of our every day reality.

I leave you with a photo of these leaves which arrived in the post yesterday wrapped in tissue. My youngest daughter picked them for me when out for a walk with my Mum when I was in South Africa working because she knows I love autumn. This w/e I will try and preserve them with varnish as a keep sake because I do have the choice over what I think.

Sending love to all those of you across the pond that care and are still reeling from yesterday's result. Together we can make a difference.

How good at you at dealing with the duality that is life. It is all about a series of polarities and Fleur Adcock captured it very well in the following poem about the poignancy of motherhood:

For a Five-Year-Old
A snail is climbing up the window-sill
into your room, after a night of rain.
You call me in to see, and I explain
that it would be unkind to leave it there;
it might crawl to the floor; we must take care
that no one squashes it. You understand,
and carry it outside, with careful hand,
to eat a daffodil.
I see, then, that a kind of faith prevails:
your gentleness is moulded still by words
from me, who have trapped mice and shot wild birds,
from me, who drowned your kittens, who betrayed
your closest relatives, and who purveyed
the harshest kind of truth to many another.
But that is how things are: I am your mother,
and we are kind to snails.

If being kind to yourself is something you struggle with then gift yourself the opportunity of coming on my forthcoming two day #mindfulness with colour retreat - - where we get back in touch with who we really are.

Today, 23 April, is all about initiation.  It is the deep blow in those two very similar bottles with pinky/ coral top halves.  Today at +Whole Self Leadership I had a client on my MOT for your Business day. It's a great opportunity to review the direction of your business, remove the emotional blocks that are keeping you stuck.  These are some of the bottles and one of the spritzers that my client chose.  She came in in a place of overwhelm, knowing intellectually that she was in transition but with no sense of how to move forwards and fear at what appeared on the surface to be chaotic disorder.  At the end of the day she felt calmer, lighter and had a greater sense about what her next step was.

If you ready to invest in yourself, ring the changes and go to the next level then get in touch.  This is very intensive and not for the faint-hearted but I can promise you will get results.

Post-partum depression can be debilitating and yet colour therapy can shift it in a couple of sessions.  If you are curious do read the following case study.
I want to share a case study of a colour therapy client to give you an idea of how it works. In many ways this person, let's call her Jo, is my ideal client in that she has done lots of work on herself so is no personal development virgin. She is also an experienced entrepreneur and yet she is stuck.
Currently she is not enjoying the self-employment journey. She has loads of great ideas but none of them seem to be perfect yet so she keeps tinkering with them and at the same time the pressure is mounting because the money isn't flowing.
On the surface there are lots of yellow issues namely fear and an over-reliance on the power of the mind, neglecting intuition. But actually it went much deeper than that as can be seen through the picking of bottle 55.
This is a great bottle for helping people deal with issues of not wanting to be on Earth. It helps to ground you, deals with Gaia alienation and post-partum issues such as depression. It's a biggie in part because it has a master number and it deals with issues that could go back years. The great news is that it can really shift your vibration so that you feel lighter!
Get in touch if you are ready to release the stuff that no longer serves you and want to start creating the life that you desire. The first step is noticing the unconscious patterns in your behaviour that are leading to your current situation.

Just had to share this image as we get ready for Mothers' Day here in the UK, it's so fitting!  If you are local be it London, Herts, Bucks or Beds and you haven't yet sourced something for your Mum then do consider paying for her to go on my forthcoming retreat w/e - 12 and 13 March - as it's a great way to get "me" time and recharge -

Wanting to make some changes and get results without lifting a weight? Then consider my forthcoming #mindfulness  with colour retreat w/e - a workout for the mind.  Just two places left

Recently I have had lots of comments from clients about time management in the form of a feeling that there is not enough time to get everything done. Yes it is true that today we all lead busy lives and if you have children they too probably have a very full life with after school activities etc.

Ask yourself how much time you spend wondering how a comment you made has gone down or what the message behind someone's email is or the significance of a glance is. All this interpretation is a waste of time and yet so many spend hours replaying a conversation in their head, trying to make sense of it or change the ending.

If you fall into any of these traps then you might like to learn how to create what you really want. I did that by joining Wild Training and then gave up sugar for a month and have lost 18cms! #Mindfulness can help give you focus and help you become more conscious about what you pay attention to. Just two places left on my next w/e course on 12 and 13 March at Harmony in Hitchin.

What have you been up to over half-term?  We spent four glorious days in the Peaks.  You can capture the essence of it from the following photos. It was so refreshing to be outside all the time and we were so lucky with the weather
