Hi everyone. Welcome to the new year. I wonder what this looks like for you. In Australia, it is hot, steamy and tropical. This weather has the power to irritate me like nothing else. But it does give me a great excuse to swim. Swim laps up and down the local pool until I run out of puff. The sheer monotony of the back and forth process in swimming laps becomes very meditative for me. It has been a really long time since I was involved in any structured exercise regime, and has taken some real discipline to stick to the training. But I was not prepared for the almost instant calming affect that swimming would have on my life. The simple decision to make a very simple change to my life has given me intention, a goal, a daily task, and best of all, an instant reward each and every time I swim . I go and swim for 30 minutes, 5 times a week. No pressure to perform. Just to simply keep going, maybe even a little further each day. A powerful antidote to depression. To know that I made it through and stick it is truly empowering for me, and it makes me feel strong. Anyone else love to swim?
Love to you all, Belinda

I've been writing a book over the last 2 years about my experience with post-natal depression, and depression in general. When I get a chance to seriously practice writing and then get the nerve to actually publish it, I press it here. I need to post a lot more regularly than I do. Life just gets in the way sometimes!

Please feel free to share your blogs via this community if you truly believe that they may assist or inspire others. No spammers please! Thanks

G'day from a cold winter's morning in Brisbane, Australia. I created this community over a year ago now, and when no one dropped in, I gave up on keeping an eye out. Now, I see there are 17 members. Wow! Not a huge number in the scheme of things, but certainly enough to get me thinking that people are looking for places to connect their ideas and thoughts on depression.
Since I started Down with Depression, so much has happened in our world that has made me question the reason for our being here. I don't want to lose faith in all that is wonderful about this place, but as a sensitive person, I often struggle to pull back from the darkness when I hear about senseless cruelty inflicted upon people and animals.
I am curious about how others are feeling. Does the world feel like it is just speeding up, and you wake up feeling jet-lagged?

Would love to hear! Smiles to you all! Belinda

hehehehehehe:)
Russia - Bird pooped on Vladimir Putin at opening of WWI monument. Early reports coming out of Moscow indicate that the bird was a 'homosex' Western agent. +RT  asks the difficult questions  : "Bird poop or CIA airstrike?"  Kremlin releases incriminating footage pointing to US-backed Neo-Nazi Europeans behind the attack. : https://i.imgur.com/i9yC5.jpg
Retaliatory measures expected. Sources say banning Austrian schnitzels is on the table .
I'll keep you posted.  On the ground , as usual , Bogdan. Stay safe !
