Tina Barney has an anthropological and sociological fascination when it comes to looking at people. ‘Theatre of Manners’ first published in 1977 shows Barney working with family and friends from Manhattan. Barney shows the relationships of her subjects, whether that’s the relationship with herself, or the subjects within the photos.

'Narrative photography is the idea that photographs can tell a story'

I'm a closed book when it comes to sharing things that are personal and emotive.
This is the front page of the story I'm just not ready to share.

But here's me in a baseball hat with a pair of wayfarers on eating an iced lolly.

Driving to uni everyday I see the same things, I get stuck in the same traffic, and I drive the same route.
I photographed this by quickly taking photos using my phone, the opposite of what my journey is, slow. I wasn't thinking about aesthetics or what was in each image, I would take as many as I could at each opportunity during my journey.
Editing each photo as a black and white grainy image representing how I feel about my journey, its cold and dark in the mornings and the traffic is a state.

Task 4:

Having the confidence to talk with a stranger isn't something that bothers me, so I wanted to find someone who stood out to me among the rest, in this case it was the clothes she was wearing and where she was sitting. Laura was in Notting Hill drinking bubble tea sitting on a step watching the world go by, I approached her and told her what I'm doing and why and that was fine, lucky for me though she is a fashion photographer and we exchange details to keep in contact for the future. I gave my images a vintage feel as if they'd been taken on a disposable camera to give the same vibe as the way Laura was dressed #picbod

Task 3:

From primary school, to secondary school at a sports college, and out of school clubs, I've been involved in sport my entire life.
Sport brings people together and gives people a chance to represent something that can mean a lot to them. Ice hockey has been my sport for many years and now I represent my university as part of the ice hockey team.
My jersey with my name and number on along with my helmet is what people will see when they look at me on the ice, together they represent how I look as a player, whilst my passion to perform is what represents myself as a player.
