"We had our wedding at the DeSoto House and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff really went above and beyond to make sure it was perfect, And it was. The sales department made all the planning and preparation seem easy and smooth. It was wonderful. Thanks again and again.----Jeremy G – Riceville, Iowa"

Stayed during the week with the dinner pkg., great value for the king room which was very nice and covered most of our steak, walleye and appetizer dinner. Great location. Don't have to drive because you are right in the heart of downtown! The parking garage is a huge perk staying here!!!! Definitely will be back.

General's Restaurant inside the Desoto House Hotel was very good. The prosciutto wrapped chicken was very well prepared and presented. I would recommend it.

My husband and I stayed there the weekend of February 22nd for a murder/mystery package. The hotel rooms were much larger than expected; the food was fantastic; the staff very helpful and courteous; the hotel was extremely clean and just what we expected. The only downsides were the towels were a little scratchy and make sure you run the fan in the winter - otherwise it won't heat properly. We stayed in the King Main overlooking Main street. The room was exactly as pictured. We will definitely stay there again. (The murder/mystery dinner was a lot of fun too!)

My daughter and I stayed there 11-26-11. The rooms and the Desoto House itself was warm and inviting. Everyone we met was warm and so eager to make our stay there a memorable one. What I feel people should also know that staying there was just not a get away but you actually feel like you stepped back in history. You would not believe how many people do not know what Galena has to offer with all its history. I can not wait to go back and stay there again. I will be telling everyone I meet about the Desoto House. Cynthia Richardson
