Bashar the alleged "alien" channelled by Darryl Anka makes a prediction!!!! (and this cracker is due by the fall of 2016 apparently)

"We will in some way shape or form, finally, realize that the existence of  Extraterrestrial life, in some form, is a fact. We will know for a fact that life exist in some form on other planets. With a 98% probability."

So lets look at this:

"we will"in some way shape or form" <---so we are being vague already.

and then just to reinforce:

"in some form, is a fact." <- could be applied a microbe or a suggested fossil or anything.

In some way shape or form eh? Pretty general?  But it gets better, because there's a get out clause to even a vague "way shape or form" when he says:

"With a 98% probability."

So even the "some way shape or form" has room to work with and nothing happening by 2016 can be excused in that it was the 2%.

This is but one example of how Bashar works.  And you believe this stuff?

Tim:  no invite came through.  it should have chimed if you were sending me something.  No chimes.

And I agree about the Bashir.  We should talk about that for the next show!

Very good points Chris and I've taken a deep breath from the silliness of alien talk with people elsewhere.

I think though (certainly here anyway) there were plenty of places where you go have gone to get the data back.  The issue though is the blanket statement of this generation being at risk from digital darkage I think if you keep your data backed up on the modern mediums you've nothing to worry about and even with the rapid speed of tech I'd say your data is safe for about 6 years at least before you need to consider another medium.  Keep in mind too data of the past is small, storage space keeps going up and is cheaper.  How many 8" disks would fit in 1tb? My mind is mush at the moment but I'd suggest its one or two.  Keeping up to date every 5-6 years is not much to ask.

The issue I had with the statement is its source.  We know that Google would digitize and document your pet dog if it was allowed and it seemed to me the "dark age" statement was a prelude to: "Don't worry Google will help you out".

Google will not help me out and this isn't even a privacy concern, it's to do with my view of Google wanting all data.

After the Googleglass spectacle (no pun intended) I'd not put anything past a company who I think has made it quite clear it wants to "control the data"

Elementary OS - Feeling like paying them? #linux #foss #elementaryos

"I wouldn't write open-source code with the expectation of making money off of it."

:) Spot on.  I agree completely.  And regardless of the "expectations" of some, there are always those coders who do donate their time.

Whilst I've not contributed code nor released my own distro I've spent 8 years advocating linux and FOSS.... I shudder to think how many hours of my time that filled and how many words.  Do I expect a payment? No.  Do I ask for payment? No. Do I want payment? No. I do it through a belief in opensource and the quality software it produces.  Other people do too, thats why they contribute the code.

Thanks for your kind words on the article.  I'd like to publish some of your musing on there if you ever want to write an article!

It's not bad. I got it in a Humble Bundle. Not read any of his before. It's set around 1996 and the references to their computers are a bit quaint. Gets reasonable ratings on https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/64732.The_Forge_of_God

I believe there's at least one more book in the series.

I think the $1500 "explorers" are going to be quite upset.  I certainly think that for example in the realms of medicine the Glass could be a useful tool for Dr's.  To me it was an obvious failure not just because it appeared to offer nothing that any other device couldn't do (albeit in your vision) but when you look at the fear (and paranoia) in the mainstream about observation, tracking, privacy.

Darryl Anka has another idea....A theme park and a resort! Wonders with Bashar never stop! http://ziafilms.com/wp/andromeda-spaceport/ #ufo #bashar #channelling

So lets just get this clear.

A man who worked on the sets of sci-fi movies (Star Trek) who has a singer cousin, is receiving messages from an alien called Bashar which you can hear if you go to one of his shows (and buy a ticket).

OpenBytes book of 2014 #amreading #ebook

2014 has seen some great releases.  It’s impossible to read every great work and the fact that I only managed to read 25 titles in 2014 means that I’ve not even come close to scratching the surface. For those who have not seen the book of the year award…
