Story
Introduction
Update: Alexa launches a timely Kickstarter project, I Wanna Work For You. These ten original tunes are arranged by bassist Sam Bevan and featuring top Bay Area musicians.

Since 2004, multilingual singer-songwriter Alexa Weber Morales has made nine studio recordings, including her two solo albums, Jazzmérica and Vagabundeo, and an EP, From Me To Yule. Most recently, her vocals graced the 2010 Grammy-nominated latin jazz album Bien! Bien!

Named “one of the greatest Bay Area recordings in recent times” by Latin Beat magazine, Vagabundeo made top-20 airplay nationwide. Her soulful lead singing and lyric contributions to multi-Grammy nominee Wayne Wallace's 2007 date The Reckless Search for Beauty received acclaim from around the world (check out Alexa singing a salsa version of "Use Me" and a Spanish version of "Afro Blue").

Alexa is a dynamic and honest-to-goodness stage performer who counts sold-out shows at Yoshi's, Jazz at Pearl's, Cafe Cocomo, San Jose Jazz Festival and the Bach Dancing and Dynamite Society to her name. She's also played Sonoma Jazz + Wine Festival, The Improv San Jose, The Little Fox in Redwood City, the Fillmore Salsa Festival, Santana Row, the Monterey Blues Festival (opening for Lenny Williams of Tower of Power), the Reno Jazz Orchestra, the Artichoke Festival (opening for Average White Band) and venues in Boston, Austin and Los Angeles. She plans to develop a touring show in the near future.

Rio de Janeiro–based producer Arnaldo DeSouteiro (João Gilberto, Luiz Bonfá) calls her original compositions “rhythmically captivating and entrancing.” A June 2008 DownBeat review of Vagabundeo enthuses, “Her large-scale skill and talent encourages her all-inclusive dreams” and praises her “gorgeous articulation, flowing time sense and warm tone.”

Book trailer for Practice Secrets of the Pros!

Are you drowning in negativity or not seeing enough progress on your instrument or in your career? In chapter 1, I give you new thought techniques, both scientifically and philosophically proven, that can fire you up.

Have you heard about 10,000 hours theory of mastery? In chapter 3, I’ll let you in on three secrets behind Mozart’s methods that YOU can use now.

So many people tell me they can’t memorize lyrics, or chord changes, or songs, or licks. I created an entire memory system, based on the system used by the world memory champion Dominic O’Brien, that you can use and tailor to your own needs. Check it out in chapter 5. It’s not going to be easy, but if you work at the skills that memory champions have harnessed, you’re going to find that you can create a system that spills over into the rest of your life and reduces that scatterbrain that is a symptom of our hyper-distracted age.

Trusting your memory will give you focus and confidence and the ability to practice anywhere, with or without your instrument!
