Sorry for the length of this post, but I am desperate. I am reaching out to all IT TECH'S that can help me with a fix for my Quickbooks Pro 2014. I cannot find the answer that solves this situation. Please help if you can.
After I do a clean install of Quickbooks Pro 2014 onto my laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1 everything works great and smooth until I do a backup or shut down the machine or even a restart. After the clean install I will be able to do a backup, just one. Every backup after the first one I do after a clean install will simply fail until I do another clean install, then I will get another successful backup, again only one, the rest will fail.
Also, Quickbooks opens the company file like a champ after a clean install. But if I shut down the computer open Quickbooks it will not open the company file. Even if I do a restart Quickbooks will not open the company file. What happens is Quickbooks opens, asks me to sign in to open the company file, when I do that the company login screen switches to the company screen (just the header at the top of the screen showing the company name) then just stops or freezes without loading the company file.
When I try to restore a backup this to will fail. I have also noticed that the company file always reverts back to a read only file even after I remove the check mark in properties from the read only box. I have been dealing with this situation for several months already. I need someone to suggest where to look and what to look at. I have tried many things per the Intuit Quickbooks community and nothing works.
It would seem to me, since it is consistent in the way it responds or I should say doesn't respond, it should be a somewhat easy fix. I am just not sure what to look for or to even look for something in Quickbooks or the operating system.
I am running the Quickbooks on this machine only and the company file is also stored on this machine. I am running Avast antivirus, but that does not seem to make the differernce, because I will get the same results with it turned off. I am connected to the internet with ATT uverse.
Just looking for possible solutions to look at.
