The worst place for mental patients in Philadelphia. They don't discriminate only African Americans, they discriminate every one with mental problems. You stop being a human being, as soon, as a door is closed behind you. The medical personal that works i crises center, should not be allowed near animals, let alone humans, specially who are in mental crises.

Holy Crap!!! This place is a JOKE!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!! I get a call from my mother-in-law (NewYork) that she was on the phone with my husband and that he was going here to speak to someone because he was feeling depressed (not suicidal) and wanted immediate help. His doctor told him that this was the place to go. He signed himself in at 11:00am and was seen by a doctor pretty quickly. The "doctor" spoke with him for literally 5 minutes and then left... never to be seen again; until my husband decided to leave. I arrived at the Crisis center after driving 2.5 hours to get there only to be told that I was not allowed to see my husband. My husband wanted to see me. The doctor refused to talk with me hiding behind HIPPA even though my husband consented him to speak with me. The entry door states "press buzzer to be admitted." Well I walked right in directly behind another person who was exiting. Wonderfully secure. Then the "security guard" just stares at me. I tell him I want to see my husband and he says that there are no visiting hours. (Okay, well, I don't really care about their hours at this point.) The security guard NEVER even stood up from behind the desk, never asked who I was or to show identification AND NEVER picked up his metal detector wand to make sure I was not bringing weapons into the facility. I am LICENSED to CARRY CONCEALED and I usually do.... especially in Philadelphia. I explained to the guy that their "secure system" is seriously a joke and that if a patient would have used their room phone..... (Which they have full access to call anyone at anytime and are allowed to accept phone calls from anyone at any time.) to request a pistol due to their severe depression one could have just walked in the door and he would not have known about it or been able to do anything about it. After my rant with him I said that I was going to call upstairs to speak with someone. I proceeded to pull out my cell phone and call my husband. (mind you there are 10 different signs that say "no cell phones permitted") Okay.... it was now 5:00pm and my husband had not seen another doctor or nurse since 11:00am. I called upstairs with no objections from anyone and spoke with my husband. He told the doctor that I wanted to speak with him. No doctor or nurse or anyone would talk to me or allow face to face with my husband. No one would discuss a treatment plan or anything with me. A short time later, my husband told the staff that he was leaving since his family was now there and could help him since the crisis center clearly could/would not. As soon as he signed the papers to leave he was told that they had "found a bed" for him at another facility. Too late. Plus I was eventually told that the doctor would come and speak with me in "15 minutes." My husband came downstairs we hugged spoke briefly and waited for the doctor to come down. 25 minutes later, I called back upstairs to see where the unknown doctor was (his name was not on any paperwork or discharge papers at all). I was then told that he would not be coming down at all. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT CARE!! They are RUDE and not conscious of SECURITY protocols at all. My husband faired much better with the love and care of his family and followed up with a doctor that he trusted. **Plus the waiting room looked like a hang out for neglected teens. No no one was speaking with them or attending to them . They were sitting in the hallways on their iPhones plugged into the walls and hanging off of one another.

I went to them twice. The first time I waited like 4 hours for the psych dr to see me. He wasnt going to admit me into the hospital, and then he said if you are that desperate we will go and admit you and keep you. Then it took another 9 more hours for my insurance to approve me and then to find me a bed then another hour or so for my transport to arrive. I understand that it takes a long time in these kind of places. The check in people at the front desk were very nice to me. Then the 2nd time I went there the recpontist there was very nice to me, asked why I was coming in. I got in the actual CRC and it took about 7 hours for a doctor to see me because he was also seeing patients in the childerns crc as well. And then I talked to the doctor and he immediately agreed that I needed help and that he was going to admit me. Then it took a LONG time for my insurance to approve me. That was the big holdup. Then when they approved me, they had to call around for a bed for me, and then they called transport. I stayed there that time for 15 hours. I felt incredibly irritable for the long wait but it was mailny my insurance being the hold up not the CRC itsself. So I would say if I ever needed to go to a CRC again it would be germantown crisis center.

There is a presidents of racism towards African American and Latino at the prestige Belmont residents where only one parent is allowed to see there child off unless you are a Caucasian family where as i have see more than one sets of parents go to the upstairs wating area but not if your black or rician the world we live in is foul and this same man told me to leave the wating room and return in 6 hours to retrive my wife. I just told him to go sit and play quietly in a corner and leave me to my self next time he gets a free chin check on me i just love breaking jawbones §μ§¥£
