If you’re a web user interface engineer (or a designer who really, really codes) and you’re passionate about the Open Web Platform and Open Source, how about applying to OpenTable to work with me as Web UI Component Engineer?

You’ll be writing code and developing processes for implementing high quality web UI components. These are inspired by (and, someday soon will literally be) web components. In the meantime, you'll get to implement using different frameworks, including brand new frameworks like Angular 2.

Parts of the library will be open source--and we also fully embrace “inner source” by bringing open source tools and processes to proprietary code.

Check out http://app.jobvite.com/m?3r7CPhwL.

To find out more about the project, check out some of the 2015 talks on Speaker Deck https://speakerdeck.com/morewry.

Mo' languages, mo' problems. Getting plurals right in localization is a tricky prospect—each language has its own rules, and exceptions within those rules. How can we scale our websites and apps to respond to our global audience? Tingan Ho shows us how MessageFormat lessens some common pain points in the pluralization process.

Kara's and my talk on Web Components and Angular will be live streaming tomorrow around 1:00 ET/10:00 PT http://www.ng-conf.org/

I had two Google profiles and apps accounts. One was personal, one was through my previous employer.

The two profiles were linked in my Google+ profiles; near the bottom using the field that allows one to link a second profile.

Before I left I removed those links. Later I noticed on my personal account that it never went away. Since then, I have tried to unlink it repeatedly for nearly a year. It doesn't stick.

Apparently as a result, my picture and name in various Google apps sometimes/almost always shows the profile information of my last manager at my old workplace.

IT there assigns access or aliases to the manager when someone leaves. A month or so ago another coworker left and his account was assigned the same person and now sometimes I show up as him, too.
