I always tend toward longer posts. It's nice to see the "common knowledge" start moving more in my direction :)

Not all online job postings are created equal. Here's how to find the good ones. #freelanceclients
We know that most of you find gigs through word of mouth. Not only is this the most popular source of gigs, but it’s also the most reliable source of gigs. But chances are you have at least browsed through gigs on online job boards like Indeed, Monster, or Mediabistro and wondered if anyone actually lands freelance gigs through these platforms. Yes, good-paying clients have been found on online job boards. While there are some outliers, most comp...

What can Cinderella or Little Red Riding Hood teach us about money? Lots, as my latest article explains.
In classic fairy tales like Cinderella, the heroine meets her prince and lives happily ever after, free from her evil stepmother and the drudgery of housework. But real life can be a lot more...

My parents always taught me to live below my means (spend less than you make) and not be swayed by lifestyle inflation. Very useful money rule!

The pastries at Three Little Figs are so, so good! I'm looking at you, pear and fig scone and French toast muffin. :) The one downside to this delightful little coffee shop is their limited hours. It would be nice to have a place outside of Davis and Porter where I can grab a pastry and tea in the evening, but alas Three Little Figs closes at 4pm.

With its self-serve frozen yogurt stations and make your own Belgian waffle machines, iYo reminds me of the college dining hall (in a good way). So far, I've tried the Tahitian vanilla (my favorite), white chocolate mousse, and red velvet frozen yogurts, and all are delicious. Also check out the funky photography in the back. This is the perfect place to cool off on a hot summer day!

I've eaten at the second floor bar and on the third floor roofdeck. It's a bit out of the way, but sipping martinis at Legal Harborside is like taking a vacation because it doesn't feel like Boston. The water views alone are worth the trip and the roofdeck in particular has a breezy summer vibe that reminds me of the best vacations. It does get crowded so arrive early to claim a good spot. Also, rather than waiting at the bar, I've found that it's faster to order drinks from one of the waitresses walking around.
