This segment inspired me to get my textbook from a class I took on Urban Cultures close to a decade ago, to see what it said about riots. Luckily I found a niffty little section about the Tulsa riots
6,000 black citizens were interned, Red Cross assessments list 300 dead, 1,429 black businesses burned or looted
Perhaps more interesting, was the fact that the incident that led to the provocation, was not exactly true. Sarah Page, the alleged victim decided not to pursue charges. A later police investigation found that the black man had simply accidentally bumped into her in the elevator.
