Found this via www.kungfugrippe.com. I agree with what Gruber says and it's another example of "what gets measured gets done". The page view rewards has some crappy results -- just look at how many writers/journalists here on g+ that link to their content on an ad-driven site instead of actually incorporating content here and discussing it. More interested in keeping the cash flow going than the discussion itself sometimes. It's not all bad and of course I understand the need for revenues, it's just that sometimes (a bit too often) g+ is treated as a marketing platform instead of a platform for social interaction.
