Fix My Computer? Part 2
Thanks to those of
you who gave distro suggestions! Most came in while talking to people personally, but in the end... Check out these specs. For me, it triggers a bit of nostalgia. To explain to my friends that this computer was "a little old", I went to ...

Giving back to... who?
Ever since we first saw that ZaReason would continue to grow despite my (founder Cathy Malmrose) stunning lack of business acumen, we saw that a computer company that uses the free and open tools of the community should somehow find a way to give back to th...

Top 5 Reasons to Get a Linux Computer
It is best to get a
computer built for Linux from the start. But why? 1. Save $ – If you
have ever built your own machine, you know that it does not always
work out the way it should. Things go wrong. Even we (Cathy and
Earl, founders of ZaReason) made a mi...

Fix My Computer? Part 1
This is a
conversation I have at least once at nearly every conference: Me: “That's a
classic laptop. It's great that you've kept it in great shape….
reducing e-waste.” Person using old
laptop: (quizzical look) “Don't you sell new computers?” Me: “Ew. No. W...

A friend is opposed to PuppyLinux at our Installfests. He says it's doing a disservice. He recommends kubuntu and dialing back the bells and whistes.

He's also in favor of just talking them into paying a little money to purchase a newer used computer. Not sure that's as much of an option in France as it is in the US.

He used to create school computer labs with no budget, so has lots of experience with old hardware.

In any case, have fun with the hardware and the trip.

A full five star, nothing lacking. We moved our books to Sorenson's company after having several difficult experiences. The top things we needed (and got) from Sorenson's assistance were: 1) The ability to describe accounting terms and concepts in an extremely easy-to-grasp way. 2) A calm, "We can handle it," attitude that was greatly appreciated. 3) A full team who can handle anything we throw their way. The best part about a good accounting agency is that they usually end up saving you more money in the long run. We are so grateful we found him! We just wish we had found him sooner instead of leaking $$ for six long years. There's nothing better than clean books and a clear outlook. Thank you!
