More than midway through the fast
And once again, I am re-reading Fr. Thomas Hopko's  The Winter Pascha  and finding it immensely useful. The book is well-structured for brief daily readings, and highlights both the liturgical worship and the language of the prayers of the Advent period. In...

The first one hundred individual members will be inaugurated as our Founder's Club, receiving public adulation and acclaim wherever they go. Also, they will be immortalized in a digital gallery of greatness, displayed prominently on our official website, and commended in public by people of good taste everywhere!

For $40 per year, you get one free tour at each Mississippi brewery (a $50 value), a membership certificate, plus a unique membership card design each year (for your scrapbook).

Join us, and together we can rule the galaxy!

In response to last week's cease and desist letter, General Counsel for the American Family Association, Patrick Vaughn, sent the following email to me this morning:

Dear Mr. Ignatiev:

In response to your letter dated May 14, 2014, AFA has removed the statements from its press release to which you objected.  AFA has replaced the previous post with the following statement and list: http://action.afa.net/Detail.aspx?id=2147545693; http://action.afa.net/item.aspx?id=2147545307.
I trust that you will find that these new posts accurately convey the competing ideas represented by the stickers and avoid attributing any statement or motive to your clients.

Sincerely,

Patrick Vaughn

American Family Association

This is a case in point where taking early affirmative action helped stop overheated rhetoric from becoming a costly lawsuit.
