If you are a beer lover then this is a great place to go to. They have something for everyone and the food is just as good. The patio is dog friendly which is a plus. There is a 6 beer limit at this location though.

Flying Saucer always has about 300 different beers to try out, mostly craft beers, not just the standard beers you find at the local grocery store. They ALWAYS have a "Fire Sale" selection that costs only $3 per pint. Happy Hour is 4-7pm - $1 off most pints Sunday is Texas pint night - all beers from a Texas brewery are just $3/pint. Monday is pint night where most of the tap wall is $3 per pint. Tuesday is trivia night - play for prizes. Wednesday is brewery glass night - you drink the beer, you keep the glass. Thursday is "Rare Beer Tapping" night where they always have some special reserve, limited edition tapping. I highly recommend the menu as it's just as tasty as the beer. Be sure to try their chips/queso or pretzels as an appetizer.

Best craft beer est in SA hand down. Lots of selection. Needs a few more imperials but the best here in SA. Vap friendly. Amytime hotspot! Good food too!!

Simply put, it is the best beer bar in the northwest side and maybe the entire city. I could praise the beer selection, but I what I want to highlight are the underrated food options, including excellent sandwiches (try the Pork Belly or the River Rocket and a side salad with jalapeno vinaigrette). The Trivia game on Tuesday is beyond cult status, as there are at least 10 regular teams that come every week to vie for bar tabs.

Great place meet friends and family. Bratwurst sandwiches are the best.

Post 2013 Review: Though this location has yet to catch up in quality to the other Texas locations, I still think its a good place to check out. In the past few years the craft beer scene has picked up quite a bit here in San Antonio. Along with the growth of beer lovers has come positive change at this Flying Saucer location. I have noticed the service has definitely gotten much much better. The servers actually know a bit about the different beer styles. That is a huge change from a couple years ago where they couldn't tell the diffidence between a porter or a bock. If you can make it out to one of the nights they have a good fire sale or half off pints its definitely worth it. The food has been alright but nothing special. Fortunately pairing a mediocre burger with a fine beer makes the experience much better. I love the fact you can bring dogs on the patio- that alone is why I find myself coming back here more often. Prior 2009 Review: I have been a huge Flying Saucer fan for the Houston and Austin locations. Unfortunately I can not say much of the same for the San Antonio location. This location has no where near the draft lineup as the other two Texas locations. The local beers is where they are really lacking variety. I was also disappointed with the staff and pricing. The beers were actually marked more expensive than the other locations!!! example: The large Blue Label Chemay was $17 where at Austin/Houston locations I believe have them around 12/market price. They also have a lot of beers not available for 3 dollar pint night or Texas pint night. The two servers that I made contact with did not know there beers as well as I would have expected. When I asked them what the specials were they both gave me pieces of paper with several beers jotted down. If the papers they gave me were correct and showed the same beers it would have been one thing but both had different beers. Overall I was very disappointed with this location and hope in the future it will improve with local selection, pricing, and service.
